When will we get a REAL TOP 40?

« on: November 20, 2009, 07:11:44 PM »

How long will 106.5 The Bull actually last in Dayton? I think 106.5 is a cursed signal, and I guess I see it staying country since it's Prem Choice and easy to run... I'd like it to go to RHY/AC, but i don't think there's a Prem Choice Rhythmic AC.... wouldn't come to small-market Dayton.

They should check out the WOW format from WOW Radio Group.  Their Rhythmic AC format would be a great addition to the Dayton area.  Too bad the 106.5 signal sucks so bad.

Check out the WOW format at http://www.wowradiogroup.com  They're also offering a free customized Christmas Countdown.  107.9 in Indy launched their Christmas format with it and it sounded awesome!  It'd be nice to hear on a station in town.

WOW that does sound nice....

I wonder if Clear Channel could run it. That sounds amazing... better than MOViN.

Rhythmic A/C? They've been there done that. I imagine they'll ride the country format until they can sell it out of the Aloha trust. It's not so much that 106.5 is a cursed frequency; it's just too far away. It'll sell to a religious operator, possibly be a Richmond IN move-in, or someone will have to decide they want to be a West Central Ohio powerhouse, selling to mom and pop type businesses in a four county area.

That may be.... but that WOW format is nice. I can't find any stations carrying it though?

I can't find any either. It would sound nice on 105.9 or a rim shot signal that has an automated format.

Either they recently launched or they're having a really hard time picking up affiliates. I think their product smacks MOViN AND Rewind's around.

WOW just launched earlier this year.  I know they're actively looking for affliliates.  Unfortunately, most companies are resistant to change...

Well, it does cost to run, but you sure do get a lot when you launch. You think it could work here?

It's expensive!  And the Movin format sure hasn't done much in its markets.
