What is the status of Bill O'Reilly on KABC?  There was a rumor circulating around that Billo's days were numbered there, and with ABC syndicating Mark Davis at the same time slot, would they go with Davis from 9-11, stick with The Radio Factor, or go in a different direction?

When does Mark Davis begin on ABC? I just looked at

and Mark isn't there.
I enjoyed him when he was national on Sundays.

I'd rather see Rantel live in the bigger midmorning daypart and a better ABCRN talent, John Batchelor, live 6-9pm. I don't think he plays well west of the Hudson River, though.

The station is going to sound great once it's sold.  I hope Clear Channel finds a way to do it...Emmis won't be too bad either.   But either way the programming on this station is terrible.

CC does better than most but sucks IMHO as of late; KFI is an excellent exception. Besides, once its sold it won't be KABC anymore, will it?

I don't see what niche a new owner would bring. KFWN and KNX of course eliminate the need for "Morning News"/"Aternoon News" type programs. KFI has Emmis' "younger, smarter, better" routine carved out. KABC is a failure because there's no solid positioning... "um, we've got Larry Elder." (I hope he's gone. How long can a station put up with their flagship network talent being a dismal third behind Leykis and John and Ken? And they don't have TV shows!)

Clear Channel would likely make 790 the place for "Slightly Less Stimulating Talk Radio". All the network shows that were good and needed protection from other stations, in an arrangement like CC Cincinnati's WLW and WKRC. Perhaps this would be KFI's opportunity to go local on market flagship KFI and move Dr. Laura to 790 scrub duty. Maybe they'd poach Savage from TD on KRLA and put him in PMD. Glenn Beck against Rush? Or in the morning... the McIntyre routine is getting old. I do think KABC should be commended for being local from 6pm-9am... who else does that, even in LA, where CC runs SEVEN HOURS of C2C... George Noory is a great guy, but how much can one take?!

Top-ranked hosts available in the market now: Glenn Beck, Imus, Neal Boortz, Jim Bohannon, Joy Browne, Dave Ramsey, Jerry Doyle, G. Gordon Liddy, Rusty Humphries, Tony Snow. Most of those you wouldn't want, so you'd have to flex some Clear Channel muscle.

As to Emmis, they really botched KTAR here in Phoenix, but Bonneville has made them look like geniuses.

Looks like I got a little too excited there.

Inus, Boortz, Liddy, and I believe Humphries, have all been in the LA market and, to various extents, failed.  I am surprised that 'RLA has not grabbed Doyle, with its TRN fixation and all.  Bohannon was on KFI once I belive, but just after he replaced Larry King on MBS/WW1.  Tony Snow was a KABC tryout for a couple of mornings after Ken Minyard retiredm but they did not pick it up.  And I don;t think there is a place for Joy Browne in the market.  The only one viable for any station in LA is Beck, and IMHO, he may wind up doing Dr. Laura's spot if she ever gets dropped.
