Went to the Grand Lux today for lunch. About 6 tables over was Vince Richards and Atom Smasher. Couldn't hear any of the conversation. By the way, the food was nothing to rave about.

He will be doing the Buzz morning show in six months.  Y'all know who I like, but my 12 year old son will love him over there.

Since he "left" KRBE I figured he'd end up at KTBZ with his old 'edgy' show. He doesn't fit in at KHMX, IMO.

I think Atom would be a little too "pop" for KTBZ.  But maybe he would surprise me.

And the burgers at Grand Lux are a good choice for next time.   Wink

Maybe he would. Many thought I couldn't make a transition from country to smooth jazz in 1996. I did both, with back to back shifts. In 1997, I produced and worked newstalk on KKTL. In 2001, I was back at KILT playing country, while playing CCR at 106.9 KKHT. A pro will do what is necessary to stay on the air.

Rap?! Well, as Clint Eastwood said as Dirty Harry, "a man has to know his limitations." But then, ya never no fo sho.

Smasher might fit better on the Buzz than he ever did at KRBE.  I could see him being very good on that format, same attitude - just some different jokes.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe he could take over the afternoon slot if no changes are made in the morning.
