a damn shame honestly. it took AAR long enough to hire him, more than 6 months after their launch.

I've been listening to him since I.E. America's days...

x2 for him to talk with Sirius. SiriusLeft is definately lacking. Move Stephanie Miller to her live slot (or replace Lynn Samuels!) and put Mike in her replay spot.

MIKE MALLOY FIRED BY AIR AMERICA RADIO!
Seattle's Progressive Talk AM-1090 is as upset as you are about the cancellation of the Mike Malloy Show from Air America Radio.  Below is a link to sign a petition urging AAR to reinstate Mike Malloy on the radio airwaves.  This may not guarantee his return but at least you can share your concerns.  Thank you so much for your continued support!

Or the people at the station don't want to deal with the phone calls and email.   Roll Eyes

Peter Werbe is doing Malloy's time slot.  Werbe does a Sunday night show on Detroit active rocker WRIF, and was a host on the old America Radio Network (as was Malloy).  Malloy has a post on his website telling fans to be nice to Werbe - it's not his fault.

WWRL has posted a schedule (again) but it only runs to 10pm.  Maybe they are waiting to see who (if anyone) gets the latenight slot.  Maybe they plan to stay with Alan Colmes.  Stay tuned.

I guess you never heard of FreeRepublic.com? They aren't really true consevative, but people who identify with right wing radio and are famous for protesting events where they don't agree with a certain person.   Or maybe you didn't hear about the big uproar with the Dixie Chicks and the protests going on there?  Or maybe you haven't seen the people on street corners holding up pictures of dead fetuses?  Or maybe you haven't walked into a grocery store where someone wants you to sign a petition to not give "special" rights to gays?  Or maybe you didn't see those "conservatives" in Florida barging into the Election office and yelling at the top of their lungs, "shut it down!" ?

Yup, I can see you are "fair and balance" with your labeling of groups.

Because they can't afford to hire lawyers and sue, like Republicans.

the bigger question is " Why do the liberals get so upset when a liberal network fires one of thier staff? " It's not like the are going to replace Malloy with Laura Ingraham, for crying out loud! They are going to put another liberal host on in his spot!

Read the 'comments' on HuffPo and you'll see what I mean.

When the guy here in Atlanta bought the signal AAR was on, and changed it, I saw the same thing:

"Sign a petition and boycott this guy!! He's eeeeevil! He hates AAR! He a zionist!!!"

At least Drobny has somewhat of a clue: he realizes that the only way to get this sick puppy in working order is to buy and control the signal's instead of leasing them. Look at what he did in Phoenix.

(But no one stepped up in Atlanta)

for 'progressives' that speak about 'hate speech' and 'hate radio' so much, they sure got alot of it bottled up Wink

Oh yeah, conservatives never protest anything.  Tell that to the FCC who is still getting petitions and complaints about Madalyn Murray O'Hair trying to ban Christian radio programming, or the endless parade of "indecency complaints" from people who are just filling out the cookie cutter automated petition/complaint form on some of these groups' websites.

If you are going to inject politics into this, at least put your room key at Hypocracy Hotel in your pocket, because now everyone knows where you are staying.

It appears that weekend host Laura Flanders will be permanently taking over Mike's 10 PM slot, beginning September 18. Apparently, since her program is (at least partially) sponsored by The Nation magazine, Air America doesn't have to pay as much of a salary to broadcast her.

The "financial reasons" explanation seems to make more sense now.
