Are you going to keep this thread going until everybody agrees with you?
You've said you're piece.
You seem to make Malloy wrong for being "disgruntled" (resenting how he was treated).

Fred, get a grip.

YOU are the one keeping this stupid thread going.

Malloy WAS wrong to be resentful. He got canned. Act like a grown up and MOVE ON. If you have talent, FIND ANOTHER GIG!

It's pretty clear YOU have been fired at least once in radio, and never got over it. Get some help.

If you want to be on syndicated radio, then you have to roll with the punches.

Baroosk:I suspect that he had crossed the line where liberals are not supposed to go.  It's one thing to suggest that 2000 or 2004 election was stolen by the Republicans, but when you start suggesting that Bush had something to do with 9/11 attacks and you give over two hours to a Lyndon Larouche advocate you are crossing the line.  I suspect that this why Malloy was let go."

I have to agree with Baroosk here. Not even 'progressives' can cross that line Wink

This makes the most sense as to why AAR would sh*tcan Malloy the way they did. He went too far left.

I'm not the one who brought this thread back to the top after it had been dormant for over a week.

If you've never been fired, you've never worked in radio.

Not only are you able to tell what Malloy would have done - you now arrogantly presume to tell people how they should feel or respond in a given circumstance.  Fruther, you are the one labelling Malloy "disgruntled" based on your own suppositions - not anything he has said or done.

Here is your line of illogic:
Malloy would trash AAR if not taken off the air.
Malloy is disgruntled because he would have trashed AAR.
Malloy would have trashed AAR because he is disgruntled.
AAR was right to take him off the air before he could trash them.

This sounds like Bush logic.
No wonder rednecks love Bush (along with cigarettes, cheap beer and NASCAR).

Talk about getting a grip!
It's been 141 years and you people still haven't gotten over losing the Civil War.
You want to secede, you got to learn to roll with the punches, Rhett.

Okay~ first Malloy rips the 'suits at Air America' while subbing for Randi Rhodes, which gets him yanked off 'second chair' duty for the other premier takent in the coveted pm drive slot in the middle of the week....

Then he gives a couple hours to a guy who's wacky conspiracy theories was sure to aggravate some of the backers of AAR, and I believe his did this knowingly, not out of ingorance.

http://www.nationalledger.com/artman/publish/article_27268094.shtml

Then his wife/producer starts posting about the firing and giving out contact #'s for AAR on DU and HuffPo, trying to start an uproar..

All this sounds like a real 'pro'. A touch of 'class'..Definitely a guy I would want on my 'team'. Roll Eyes

I don't think his bashing of the Catholic Church and other religions went down very well, either.  I personally agreed with Malloy philosophically on some of the points he made, but for the most part, I found him abrasive and insensitive.  And on more than a few occasions, I'd add "hateful".  I, for one, won't miss him.

There will be life after AAR for Malloy.  He's an established liberal talk personality with a large loyal fan base (Check out his various on line petitions.)  Most likely he will wind up on Satellite Radio where he will be a bigger draw than Alex Bennett, The Young Turks, Bill Press, Lynn Samuels, or Thom Hartman.  It's a no brainer for Sirius to add Malloy to their lineup.  From what I understand Malloy was getting just over 100 G's from AAR.  Sirius could easily match that number.  It's also a good way to corner the anti-AAR lib talk audience.

We've come a long way on this board.  I'm glad to read that there is such a thing as "the anti-AAR lib talk audience."   Roll Eyes

Sirius does have an opportunity to boost their Sirius Left Channel.  They are about to lose the Young Turks.
My recommendations:

Continue Bill Press live 6am to 9am
Move Stephanie Miller to air live 9am to 12pm (replacing Bennett).
Take all three hours of Thom Hartmann live (Lynn Samuels now gets hours two and three)
Continue Ed Schultz 3pm to 6pm Live.
Take Malloy live 6pm to 10pm
Add Doug Basham live 10pm to 1 am.
Give Samuels and Bennett weekend shows.
Take "Best of Peter B. Collins" on weekends also to test the show.
Also have top local progressive hosts do live weekend shows for Sirius (Marvin, Newcomb, Rogers, Taliafero, Taylor, et al), possibly on a rotating schedule.

More live programming enhances the appeal of the channel.
Have special numbers for Sirius subscribers to call shows.
Do special marketing to get back former subscribers who went to XM when AAR bailed.

Hartmann said on Sam Seder's show late last week that he'd been talking to Sirius and some of the other lefty shows on Sirius (Press, The Young Turks, and Hartmann) are also on a few terrestrial stations, so Malloy might well go that route.

BTW, this has nothing to do with Malloy, but I heard Wayne Gilman doing the news on AAR today.  So much for the theory that he was just a "legacy" employee of WLIB and would return there when AAR switched stations in NYC.

It's been quite obvious on this board that there was "such a thing."  Let's see: MWebster, NWebster, MerriamWebster, skyeye, Bierkenstock, Emacee, Fred Flintstone....there's seven right there!

See, we have come a long way.  You used to call me a conservative and compare me to Maloney.
I've used some other names but SamBuca wiped old posts, including my posts under those other names.  So, you have not got a complete list of my efforts to keep one-step ahead of Lance.
And then there are the people with multiple personalities who have concurrent posting identities - not just handles.  They take different viewpoints and different styles and even debate themselves online (and take an infantile joy in thinking they are fooling everyone).   Huh

I don't think I've ever called you a conservative, although I certainly have compared you to Maloney.  You both have an unhealthy obsession with trashing Air America, but at least Maloney gets a little something from Amazon for his efforts.

So you admit that you've used other names on this board besides the seven that I listed!  Such extreme behavior narrows down the list of suspects who would go to all the trouble it would take to create additional "multiple personalities" who "debate themselves online."  I can think of only one person who would be that obsessive, who seems to have unlimited time on his hands, and who has a history of reinventing himself, over and over again.
