There will be life after AAR for Malloy. He's an established liberal talk personality with a large loyal fan base (Check out his various on line petitions.) Most likely he will wind up on Satellite Radio where he will be a bigger draw than Alex Bennett, The Young Turks, Bill Press, Lynn Samuels, or Thom Hartman. It's a no brainer for Sirius to add Malloy to their lineup. From what I understand Malloy was getting just over 100 G's from AAR. Sirius could easily match that number. It's also a good way to corner the anti-AAR lib talk audience.
We've come a long way on this board. I'm glad to read that there is such a thing as "the anti-AAR lib talk audience."

Sirius does have an opportunity to boost their Sirius Left Channel. They are about to lose the Young Turks.
My recommendations:
Continue Bill Press live 6am to 9am
Move Stephanie Miller to air live 9am to 12pm (replacing Bennett).
Take all three hours of Thom Hartmann live (Lynn Samuels now gets hours two and three)
Continue Ed Schultz 3pm to 6pm Live.
Take Malloy live 6pm to 10pm
Add Doug Basham live 10pm to 1 am.
Give Samuels and Bennett weekend shows.
Take "Best of Peter B. Collins" on weekends also to test the show.
Also have top local progressive hosts do live weekend shows for Sirius (Marvin, Newcomb, Rogers, Taliafero, Taylor, et al), possibly on a rotating schedule.
More live programming enhances the appeal of the channel.
Have special numbers for Sirius subscribers to call shows.
Do special marketing to get back former subscribers who went to XM when AAR bailed.
