Air America Responds To Bankruptcy Rumor
AIR AMERICA RADIO has issued a statement responding to the CENTER FOR AMERICAN PROGRESS' THINKPROGRESS.ORG's report that the network is about to file for bankruptcy, saying that "if AIR AMERICA had filed for bankruptcy every time someone rumored it to be doing so, we would have ceased to exist long ago; it may be frustrating to some that this hasn’t happened. No decision has been taken to make any filing of any kind, we are not sure of the source of these rumors and frankly can not respond to every rumor in the marketplace. "

Stay tuned.

I'll help Phillip out:

" How does Think Progress know about AAR's finances?"

"prove they aren't going bankrupt by showing your 'sources' "

" this is just another attempt by some failed talk show host/right wing rag/ fill in the blank pejorative to downgrade the awesome success of AAR " Grin

Thought I'd give Phil a breather!

Just because somebody denies something, doesn't mean it's not true.

The denial was not a flat out denial.

AAR's statement did not rule out bankruptcy.

If they are considering - or have decided on - declaring bankruptcy, they may feel they can not say so until they file - but they do have to say something.  So they tap dance and talk about all the rumors about AAR and how they won't deign to respond.

If AAR's board is considering offers from potential buyers, bankruptcy may not happen if they make a deal.

Think Progress is not exactly a disreputable source here.  But their parent organization also produces the Bill Press Show so it could be argued they do have dog in this fight.

...and Press himself has made it clear (in statements made while he still had a show with Pat Buchanan on MSNBC) that he didn't believe Air America was serious about making a go of it primarily because they never approached him to do a show. Thus, because they didn't stroke Press' ego, he has that axe to grind...

I wouldn't go there. At least Bill's fib didn't cost three thousand lives in a war built on false pretenses.

does someone need to watch ABC's 'the path to 9-11'? Wink

let's get back to radio:

If AAR does declare bankruptcy this Friday, how is that going to affect Jamie Horn's credibility as the spokesperson for AAR? Will that make her the female version of 'Baghdad Bob?'

If AAR does not declare bankruptcy, then how did ThinkProgress get thier sourcing? Will the rumors of filing bankruptcy affect the sale price of AAR?

Dont give me the bush lied crap. Thats all the libs can think of other than "Bush stoled the election... Twice" Obviously you dont know what you are talking about. There was WMDs and sadam hid them. Also bush got his info from the CIA and FBI who was appointed by Clinton. If anybody lied it was them. Also Clinton dropped the ball several times getting osama so clinton killed 3,000 people not bush. This is why AAR is bankrupt. nobody wants to hear a bunch of lies and crying. Libs cant win elections because people dont feel safe with a lib in charge.
