With the exception of Emmis in L.A., is CBS the only company agressively persuing the MOViN format?

Lately it seems if a market does not have a MOViN formatted station, a CBS o/o will flip to one.

It's this years JACK!  At this rate CBS will have pre-fab formats installed in all of their markets...

Why do you think CBS keeps putting on Jacks and Movin's? They're eventually selling off their radio properties one by one over a 5 year plan.

If you're a jock with personality STAY CLEAR OF CBS!!!!!! Just stay clear period. Los Angeles, NYC, San Francisco and Dallas are in very bad shape from bad programming to bad management.

Let's hope most of these clueless PD's, OM's, Managers don't worm their way into CC, CUMULUS, ABC, Emmis, Entercom, Cox!!! This little "Club" has already been going on for sometime and has to stop so fresh new thinking can emerge. Too many CBS toilets where the TURDS rise to the TOP.

At a certain major market CBS cluster several of the managers and PD's have come from CC. In some cases they have gone from CBS to CC back to CBS!!!! Enough of this nonsense!!!

You are so utterly full of it Radiocrusader! This movin format is only going to be "movin" into the trash heap of history! This format is just a bunch of records from the 70's, 80's and the 90's thrown into the air and played in a namby pamby fashion with a few new hits thrown in for the hell of it! Nobody at Clear Channel is losing any sleep over this cruddy format. If this is music to make me feel good and get movin, I suggest the folks at CBS move to another country! Mike Preston is losing his shirt with this one in short order! But you are right about one thing the station IS totaly incredible in any way! 12 commercials in a row already too, thats a great way to keep people "movin." (to other stations!)

Yes - I have to agree with Radio Star One. I'm trying to maintain some enthusiasm for 99.7 - it sounds good...for a few minutes at a time, anyway, until I tire of it.  In an urban area like San Francisco where most music formats are cluttered with "old school" - it's hard to see how one more station with 70s-80s soul music as its anchor - is going to get more than a 2 rating.  Let's see - we already had Kiss-FM and KBLX playing exclusively old school, with KKSF and KOIT programming a lot of this same music because it fits in with their "sound." Even Max-FM and Star 101.3 manage to play a lot of this stuff.  How many times a day can we continue to hear "Let's Stay Together," "Freak Out," "Midnight Train to Georgia," and "Let's Groove Tonight" for year-after-year- after-year until we tire of it? I used to love these songs, now I hit the preset-button for KQED whenever they come on. Yes, 99.7 adds a lot of recurrent Lite Rap, and a few current hits, but I'm not sure it's enough to make the Movin sound qualify as new and different.

Also, that "music that feels good" image slogan has to go.  It's a recycled KOIT liner...in fact, KOIT had a "music that makes you feel good" jingle for about a dozen years.

I'm thinking that they are going to continue to play these same old songs until the REAL MOViN' 99.7 is ready to premeire with their air personalities in place.  This seems about the way ALICE@97.3 did it. Although they were on the air calling themselves ALICE, the station didn't really jell until they got everything into place. So right now MOViN 99.7 is most likely scraping the old paint off the walls and just now applying the primer.

That is a most unlikely true picture of what is to come with these bozo's in charge! And remember first impressions are everything and this first impression stinks and will continue to stink as long as these bozo's are in charge! Just look at their track record since Doug Harville came to the bay area! He needs to be fired and returned to the minor leagues, the sooner the better! He knows nothing about bay area radio or how to program to this audience! He has proved it with every stupid change that has been made! He is so lame it hurts to even think of what he might come up with next! Why doesn't CBS Radio allow Bill Drake to polish this station no matter the format! He could do it better in his sleep! You All Know It Too! So Does Mr. Drake.
Another radio station legend is destroyed by the incompetent boobs at CBS Radio! How many does this make now? I can think of at least seven so far! They should be ashamed to get up in the morning and call themselves radio professionals! Sorry if the truth hurts, but these people are pathetic!

pa·thet·ic4 : ABSURD, LAUGHABLE synonym see "MOVING"  "Can you believe this was in the dictionary?" But there it is!
