Finally getting around to thinking back to last weekend...Did anyone catch new KFYI Sunday afternoon show, Crime Beat?  Only heard a little...Bob Crane murder was the topic...A few elderly called in--Plus, more called in for a trivia quiz--that did not necessarily relate to crime...?  One trivia winner gave away her free Subway sandwich because she would never drive to N. Scottsdale from her Mesa residence...  Each time the host came back from a break, he said, "I am here with my co-host, Ray ____  (Could not understand the last name...)"--He never ID'd himself--nor the station.  Though tough for Jim Sharpe to keep going, solo, on a slow Sunday, he did sound seasoned and professional.  Hey, I want to give these guys a chance, but...  Where's Rod Peterson?

The Nurse and I caught it as well. You're right A/C, it was lame.  But the AM/AM/FM trimulcast of the Cardinals game on KT'R was even lamer!

I caught it too.   I was impressed that they were able to get the guests that were connected with the original investigation.

Was this an audition, or is it going to be a regular weekly show?

I was also surprised that they got as many callers as they did.   By the way......I wouldn't drive to Scottsdale for a sub sandwich.......now a Prime Rib dinner would be different.

It's better than Jan D'Atri broadcasting prices in front of battery stores.

The Crime Beat was off on 29 October. David Leibowitz was guest-hosting, but using a typical radio talk show format. The Beat will be back next week.

KFYI lost me..

they drop the third hour of the drudge report in favor of an art bell coast to coast re-run 'filler' hour; which was the second hour of that nights guest...  so we don't even get the full interview.

six hours of coast to coast isn't enough?  ..we gotta take eight hours of that nonsense.  coast to coast is a good listen for a few months, but then you've heard all there is to offer and it gets old and tired.

just about every radio / tv talent checks the drudge report several times a day... and the one night that matt is on-the-air himself, we only get half the show from KFYI. ?

i would only tune-in to 550 for matt drudge.  ..sometimes catching the terry gilberg show leading into it.  now i have no use for KFYI.  i'll have to pull-in 640 KFI or record their internet stream for later playback.

so long KFYI!

i'm gone.

Yeah, they need to put Coast-to-Coast back on after midnight where it belongs.

Drudge is the only syndicated host I can stand on that station.

I listened to KFYI Crime Beat this afternoon....I thougth it was GREAT....The idea is to focus on the CRIME....the fact these guys did not keep repeating their own names and how great they were was, frankly refreshing...they never talked about Kerry or Bush....they were sincere and objective....they made me want to listen more...the guest were GREAT!

I am so sick of slick radio personalities trying to con me into buying floors or cars...these guy were REAL.....The case of Carmen Goll will haunt me for a long time...I hope the catch the SOB that killed her....
