The only one "aflutter" was you. Real folks who ndon't get paid to posture quit listening to the drivel long ago. You folks just don't "get it". You "trained professionals' won't give us what we want.

What a nice site here. I get to see the 'experts" cry about how they have totally lost touch with reality and don't even know why. One that is not PC would surmise that the sphincter muscle is cutting off the blood supply to your brains. Hopefully you will understand WHY this is so. Yuck yuck. I said sphincter on a website............... just as amusing as most of the so called DJ's that populate current radio...........

SW, great job! Very impressive.

Don't mind Bubba. He's not a true 'son of the soil' just some green kid fresh out of CSB, impressed with his own self. Let him find out for himself. Wink

Wow, that was harsh (me not you evnlee). Sorry. weak excuse: I was in and out while burning stuff on the stove and did not express myself at all I I wanted too. Again, sorry. Let me try again.

Nice poem, I found it quite funny yet at the same time it illustrates how sometimes the industry "experts" totally miss the boat. There is a reason folks didn't listen to WGST and it's not only because the signal reached about 4 square blocks, (I live ITP and probably no more than 10 miles from wgst if it's where I think it is, and I can't get the signal most times), we just didn't find their schtick worth listening to. I tried "the kimmer" many times and just didn't find his laugh tracks, old tired jokes, or bad impersonations amusing. Semper Fi. Tom who's? gst, planet whatever, has been dead for years. The shame of it is that with some creative thinking it could have easily usurped WSB. Well creative thinking and a signal strong enough to get it past the station parking lot...............

Sorry you don't like Vince Gill, welcome to the South. We have a liking for Country Music, black eyed peas, cornbread, and NASCAR and I won't apologise for it. Some of us also like hip hop, blues, and jazz. We like many things and try to be tolerant of others, even Yankees. I don't go to New York, LA, or Paris and tell them they are stupid for their particular likes and dislikes so why should I, a southerner, remain silent while folks come to MY home and tell me I'm stupid about my likes and dislikes?

The regular guys? While I'm sure that some liked their beavis and butthead, "I can say <male member> on the radio mentality, I can't say that I particularly did. Nor did I care that they could get a stripper to call in for an interview or a "porn star". I passed through puberty long ago and think I wasn't that insipid then. I'm certainly not now. Sorry I'm not "sophisticated" enough to find them worth listening to. They came and went and came and went without much notice from me. Apparently without much notice from too much of anyone or else they would be on the air somewhere. Ever hear of Steve Dahl and Gary Meir (probably spelled wrong)? Back in the 80's they went from "The Loop" to WSL" and back so often it would make your head spin. They would get fired from one station for "crossing the line" and be on the air the same time the next day practically on the other station. Randy and Spiff are like that in a way, without the controversy lol. They keep losing stations and it's not their fault. They will have a show right after they get done with their christmas holidays if they don't already have offers right now. Atlanta loves them. Yeah Baby.

Again, sorry my first reply was so................ well I can't acurately describe it in polite terms lol but let's settle with harsh. Your poem was quite funny and creative. Sorry it "struck me wrong" and I replied as I did. That is not who I am or how I wish to be here. I have enjoyed the hell out of this site and learning from you "insiders" about what is going on in radio. But a tip........ don't forget us "little guys", the listeners. Whether we are sitting in an office, a vehicle, or a construction site listening to our radio or webstream, we are still there LISTENING to that which amuses us for 8 or more hours a day. Most of us don't have time to "call in", but we vote with our feet as it were. SOMEONE needs to get a clue as to what we want.

Blah-Blah-Blah  SalesWeasel !

Nice work.

Let's see if your detractor is as skilled in verse and composition. Cheesy

Yep, but I don't have a subject right now that I'm passionate about. And I'm not his "detractor". see the post above please.

When I don't hear a local radio personality, I listen for an ad and buy from the competition.

Simple as that.
