100%.

Might be the federal judge who put the fear and wrath of God into our legal writing classes that did it.

My sister passed the bar in July, and her 5 yrs of school were hell with the judges she took classes from, she said they were mean LOL.

Now, gotta take this test.....

Update - 98%!

Number 10 was a trick, two choices had the same answer!

If she thought judges were mean in the classroom, tell her to screw up (even mildly) once in court.

That's mean.

But, ask her if she's a better writer, thinker, and logician after having those mean judges as instructors.

I would guess her answer would be something that rhymes with "you pet your bass".

98 pct. I guess I misssspellllled my name or soemthign.

Seriously, I think e-mail and IMs have created a wretched landscape for communication. All the wrong uses of words, incorrect spelling, stupid acronyms, etc. make many things unreadable. You should see some of the business letters I receive on a daily basis. Why would I consider buying anything from your company when your Director of Sales has inexcusable errors in an introduction letter?
Cover letters for resumes have really gone in the toilet over the last five years also. The kids write a cover letter like they are IMing a friend. Bad, bad way to try and make a first impression.

Try grading their college papers.  Ugh.

Or as they might write: "Try gradin there (or they're) colege papers."

I admit that I have one or two words I habitually spell incorrectly (hypocrisy being one, second "c", and unless I'm watching closely, judgment often gets an "e").

I did notice Number 10 had the same answer twice.

It's not just recent.

Some 30 years ago when I was setting up a "Beautiful Music" AM station on the east coast I used a written application that had to be completed in the station.  I figured we were going to have an upscale audience with some degree of education and grammatic awareness.  Spelling actrocities, those I could live with because listeners can't hear spelling.  But lousy grammar got applications tossed without further consideration and no explanation.  I rather suspect that's still happening today though poitical correctness probably would demand a hanging if the applicant had English as a second language, even considering thigs like Ebonics to be a formal language.
