Well I'd rather have prog talk get on because a station feels it would do well rather than because the FCC
would mandate it (with return of Fairness Doctrine). Basically, libtalkers, if your product is good people will
put it on the air and it'll get results, though it certainly has been a rocky year for libtalk...but yes,
conservative talk radio has proven to be a success (and most likely fans of libtalk in the Champlain Valley
would probably be better off getting a satellite radio or picking it up from distant stations like
Buffalo's 1520. Not many options out there! though isn't there a CP for a 670 in Essex Jct.? maybe there?)

I agree completely, Raccoon.  Prog talk seems like such an obvious format choice (or at the very least, a flavor) for Burlington.  I like your sentiment of "if your product is good, people will put it on the air...", but the reality is that Goldman won't put anything on 620 that doesn't meet his agenda.

Yup. Am kind of mentioning it in the national sense, though; prog talk fans in places like Boston or New Haven
(format went away) who are rallying to get it back might eventually find a smaller station to put it on but in
all honesty they may be better off trying to get 1 or 2 pretty-good libtalk shows and rallying the bigger
conservative talk stations to take them. Not an easy task either, given the track record so far (though in some
cities libtalk is doing OK). But yeah, doubtful 620 would do so.

>>I like your sentiment of "if your product is good, people will put it on the air..."

am mostly conservative, partly moderate, but I feel if libtalk can put out a good product and it's a success than so be it. And heck I've enjoyed some libtalkers like Alan Colmes or Steph Miller..at least for awhile Smiley
Entertain me. Some on the left actually enjoy listening to Rush or Hannity--even if they disagree with just about everything the host says, they find it entertaining.

Of course in the world of political talk radio "lies"=opinions I don't agree with.  Liberals lie too.

WTWK 1070 has received more attention since it 86'ed "Dead Air America" more than anytime than it carried "Dead Air America". The only place where I see "DDA" thriving is in Portland Oregon which is quite similar in character to Burlington, except much larger.

More attention on this board and similar online places, I'd think. Not sure if the format change was
mentioned in BurlFreePress, 7Days, etc...

It was only known because they did a rather large ad for the new "Eve"...but then in typical Northeast fashion....never ran another one.  They will change formats agains in 7-10 months.

Listened to "Eve" for about 5 minutes the other day.  Three chicks talked about how big their butts were, and whether or not it was good or bad (fashion wise) to have big or little butts.  Do I care about this?Huh  Does ANYONE?
Don't think I'll be tuning in again.

I saw full page ads again this week.  Two weeks in a row...breaking out the bucks. Shocked
