So, what's the story on DelGiorno's bad blood with the people at 740? He used to be 'the man' when he did afternoons on KRMG. I remember listening to his show and thinking "Wow. This guy is great."
Only DelGiorno can tell you if there's bad blood with KRMG or if it's just for the sake of entertainment. While I interned when he was in the building, I only saw him a couple of times, and "Hello, how are you?" was about the most interaction we had. I do, however, wonder how much of it is DelGiorno and how much is the format in general. He's probably the only one who knows. I also worked with Vincent David Jericho who now works at sister station KSGF in Springfield, which uses much the same approach as KFAQ. He's very much the controversial, in-your-face, talk host. However, he was soft-spoken, calm and quite courteous around the office. I suppose he could have changed since I worked with him, but he was a very nice guy around the office. His political views were very much the same whereever you saw him, but it was hard for me to believe he was the same person.
The story I heard as to why DelGiorno left KRMG was that he was offered a better job (the OM position) at Clear Channel. If there's more to it than that, he's probably the only one who could say. I agree that he was excellent on KRMG. I was also visiting my parents one week when he filled in on the KQLL morning show. He did an excellent job there as well.
