KBME is back in the web address for 790. Originally www.espn790.com and then www.790thesportsanimal.com, the site is now www.790kbme.com.

Kind of odd for a station that buries the calls during TOH ID, and never is mentioned by staff, unless it IS for TOH.

So why, all of a sudden, the reintroduction of the station's calls in the website? With KILE supposedly coming on the air with a sports format in the not to distant future, is it time to speculate?

I don't think the old www.790kbme.com site was ever taken down.  I recall it forwarding to the new site during the early days of the sports format.

The new KILE format is speculated as "Guy Talk" which is sort of what is done on KTCK in DFW, with a good deal of success.  The format here would probably inevitably include some sports content, but it probably won't be the main focus.  Too much other competition in that genre here.

I dont see a format change on 790 in the near future, despite the rather disappointing numbers two and a half years after the flip.  Besides, what is going to work better on that signal, other than going the brokered ethic/religion route?
