JT here,

I've had the privilege to work for Rock 104.5 for 8 plus years now here in Wilmington. Thanks to Chuck Sullivan and Carl Venters (Ocean Broadcasting) for giving me the chance to continue doing what I love to do. Rock and have fun.

One of the big payoffs of working in radio is meeting and making new friends. It is my sincere hope that I bring something positve and a smile to the people that do listen.

Things have changed since NextMedia took over. I can only try my best every day to do the job I am asked to do with what is available to me. I don't make decisions about music, imaging or most other content on the station. Would I change some things? Yes.

Rock 104.5s  Program Director is Matt Carter, he answers to our GM, Operations Manager and Corporate Director of Programming.

I'm here for ya! jt@rock1045.com

Nice post, JT.  Just be careful.  I wouldn't be surprised if your immediate supervisor checks these forums, and since he's been apt to do things to WRQR to help kill it, he may be inclined to do so again with regards to your future employment.  Tread lightly, my man!

Dang why does it seem like everyone in radio is out to kill it long-term?

You know it's funny, I went to Arbitron to check on prior ratings and then to this site to check on prior postings for RQR and the book before Carter was @ 7.2 then Carter shows up and the loss of JB&B(not Carters Fault) the book dropped into the 5 range, then down in the 3 range and now to a 2. What makes me laugh is the prior postings By Matt & voicetracker boasting the great job they are doing and how Nextmedia is the cats meow, but now that they are in the toilet they haven't posted any responses to the negitive book for the spring. How is this so? I guess they are looking for a patsy to throw all the blame on.Be a man Carter and admitt your mistakes and correct them.Learn from them and turn a negitive into a positive. All I know is that as long as you keep driving the station into the ground I will limit my listening habbits to the times I wish to listen, instead of all day and make sure that advertising dollars go where they will get the most value--QQ/GNI ect. If you stay at the bottom I'm sure many more clients will drop off your air waves!!

Well, rumor has it you're getting one of our DJ's down there to help bring up the ratings & turn the station around. Former wncd 93.3 DJ, Tina, is either a new DJ for the station or the new program director. I can't tell you the whole deal, since I don't know much myself. But I do know she left Y-town for Rock 104.5 down there. You'll have to see what happens over the next few months. I'll check back later for you insights/results on how the station is doing with the new change.  Smiley
