I don't understand this new KPRC line-up. I really don't. I understand what could possibly be KPRC's reasoning ..to separate the audience more succinctly between KTRH and KPRC but with Baker and Hunt and W &J and Mancow?
As for beating KILE to the "Guy Talk", punch...you could do that with pirate radio. From what I'm hearing, I'd be surprised if KILE even makes it on the air and if it does launch, I wouldn't suspect it would last very long. That stations handlers aren't operating with a full deck and I mean that in about five different ways.
I know a couple of people interviewing with the GM of KILE for a couple of positions and from what they tell me he is all over the place as you suggest Wilmington. He forgets appointments, misses meetings and makes inappropriate comments to people he doesn't know. They have put together an impressive on-air lineup, but if they have sub-par support staff and limited promotion at launch, which this might indicate, I would be surprised if they are successful. This new station has the opportunity to make hay in light of 610's current disaster and KBME's inconsistencies. I won't even mention 97.9. With that signal they are a non-factor. So in summation, KILE will either succeed quickly or it will be one of Houston's more prominent train wrecks.
