So, the tedium and banality of a very unfunny show on FM--now moves to be just as unfunny on AM.
I suppose an even more idiotic show will replace Walton and Johnson on KIOL. Cumulus will probably pipe in two hayseeds that are considered HIGH-larious from their oh so popular Mount Pilot market.
I can understand why KPRC is skewing men...tends to separate, "distinctify" and discern the station's numbers from KTRH. OK, Fine, we get it, but did they REALLY have to do it with W&J and Mancow?? Surely, they could have gotten a funnier morning show. Two Sophomore geeks from the Mayde Creek High School A/V club would be more entertaining. I've only listened to Mancow intermittently. I guess he's funnier than W&J.
Then again, so is [EDIT]..
I bet Cumulus pawns off KIOL to some schlub outfit in Beaumont and the station moves there are somewhere further east. ANY place where it can actually be heard from one block to the next. I have no idea what they'll do with KFNC. That poor station has been raped and pillaged. I wish Cumulus would just let it die in peace.

Can you say Pruett and Boner? I bet you KIOL can, and will.
As far as KFNC, what a shame. And they killed KLOI for this?!? Cumulus hasn't made a right decision with KFNC yet, so I wouldn't expect them to now. Just save some money at this point, Pat. Simulcast KAYD back on 97.5 and cut your losses. The signal sucks in Houston. It doesn't matter WHAT you program on the station, it will never win in this market. Program it for Beaumont, like it used to be, and forget it.

I agree. I think that Pruitt will be back on the air shortly. After all, Pat Fant is still around.

Get an Ipod and load it with the music you like. You'll be a lot happier.

They should just have some fun with those two sticks, put a "ENERGY" dance format on 97.5, put a AAA format on 103.7. People will listen to two formats they cant pickup anywhere else (besides satelite) and tollerate the static.

Radio has to have programming for the masses. So, it wouldn't work. Don't get me wrong.. it would sooo rock, but it wouldn't work. I say on 103.7, bring in a real Top40. Neither Houston nor Beaumont (covered by KIOL's signal) has a real top40.

That's why I used the term "REAL" top40. KQXY is off on some 80's Hot AC trip from hell, and KRBE is going uber Hot AC on us. Neither are true CHR stations.

From what I have heard from KQXY, they sound like a trainwreck all over the tracks....one song is an 80 HAC, next song is a 90's urban, etc etc...nothing consistent.. Demos in Beaumont have the Urban formats winning...trying to divide the left overs (other than talk) doesnt leave much for them....guess thats why they have the format they do....(but I wouldnt call it a HAC from the 80s!)
