Look Russ is on the air - ALL THE TIME - telling the FEW that still listen that commercials are bad. He is not going to make a deal w/metro, traffic.com or anyone else that requires him to run additional inventory in exchange for a service unless it's something He or Libby wants. Regardless of what the audience/research indicates!
Beattles' Brunch for example in that hour on Sunday morning you hear more than 6 commercials - maybe 12 or 16 an hour, and many of those are national, or "network".
Several months ago it appeared WKLU had a partnership w/Channel 6, has gone away? The way those partnerships typically work is...the TV station provides you a service, that your audience is interested in, runs promos for you on their respective station in exchange for access to your audience. Heck, most time you can even negotiate a larger share of the media buy because of the partnership....that is if you have someone in place who understands how to negotiate....
btw - heard another a.e. just left..Mo' money avail for the rest of you Smiley

I know I hear Paul Poteet a lot on Abdul's morning show on XNT, but I haven't heard anyone on KLU from 6.  Does Paul do that for the station or is he paid for himself?

How can an AE make any commission there? With the dramatic slide in the latest ratings, they can't sell spots, so they disguise it as "commercial free." How can you make a living as an AE if you can't sell the product?
