WPBH 93.5 the FOX????

After hearing 94.5 going to talk, i checked and 93.5 is finally not simulcasting 99.3 anymore. But right now, it's playing a DJ telling you to move up the dial to 99.3 to hear Hip Hop and R&b. I e-mailed the progam Director of 99.3 back around july 4th and got a respond telling me that they were going to change formats on 93.5 in a couple of weeks. Well as u can tell, that was 2 months ago now and there finally doing something about 93.5. But i was surprised that 94.5 changed to talk before anything happen to 93.5.

But at clear channel's website, it has 93.5 wpbh format as Classic Rock and the website name is www.935thefox.com. <<<The website does not work, but here's a link of the clear channel's site if u want to look at this station info for yourself. http://www.clearchannel.com/Radio/StationDetails.aspx?ID=67579

So are we seeing what was 94.5 The Fox Moving down the Dial to 93.5 to become the FOX?

That's the best radio maze I have ever seen! The website is 935thefox, but at 99.3 called The Beat, but
playing classic rock. Cool thing, I know CC will fix it. For a second, I thought Crumulus must have bought
those stations. Then the whole thing would have made perfect sense.

they're positioning themselves as 'Rock 93.5' as of right now...sounds slightly different then the fox did.

Quite a step down from a 100KW station to a 14,500 watt station. Looking at the coverage map, it doesn't even cover PC.

Yeah i was looking at the coverage map too and there tower is in port St joe. I get them loud and clear here in mexico beach. The station has not commercials prob just for the weekend and the music is similar to what the fox was playing. I hear alot of classic rock, but i did hear a godsmack and a bush song yesterday afternoon.

Now, it's hard to hear because we have a 50KW 93.3

This is indeed a sad day.

I hope they get a construction permit to move their tower to PCB and hopefully a powerboost or a change in frequency. (which is not likely)

I see 95.1 has a CP.
They claim to cover Destin but their coverage map says barely.

That's a good station since 101.1 can't come in here at all. (99.9 Mobile and 100.3 Niceville bleed in)

I found the website for the station finally, it's www.935rocks.com
The station does need to boost up there signal just a bit, it comes in great here in mexico beach since i'm only 10 miles from the tower. But while working at night, i bring a radio in with me to listen to the station and i have to move the radio around so much just to get a signal.  But the only signal i get is 95.9 bleeding over everything in the area since i'm not that far from the tower. But i have to say that i'm loving the the no so many commericals right now at night, it rocks.

93.5 is boxed in and cannot upgrade or move closer to Panama City....I know this sounds strange to rob but they can't just "get a CP"....you have to meet technical minimums set forth by the FCC

I think that engineer over there at that big company is just to lazy to get the electric company to add some 220V lines
so they can turn up the power or they can't pay there power bill and that's why they are a different, non-French format. If Ron Hale could get a 300,000kw station on a 65,000 ft tower, why can't this rock thing not? Stop using the FCC for your reason to continue to operate this station with the power of a flashlight. I AM NOT BUYING IT. And while you're at it, why can't you just put the antenna on top of one of those new condos on Front Beach Road? Who is going to know, you can't see the radio frequency power coming out of a tower, it's clear, anyway. If Castro wasn't
dead, I'd see if I could put out a signal from Cuba to show you how it is done. FM is more popular than AM. The tropo would be unreal. Focker out.

I may not be very smart but the reasons why 93.5 in Port Saint Joe can't upgrade asnd/or move any closer to Panama City would include the following:

Protecting WNCV 93.3 from the Fort Walton Beach area
Protecting WRJM 93.7 from the Geneva Alabama area
Protecting WGWD 93.3 from the Tallahassee area

I'm still learning about the business.  As you can tell, I've been doing my homework and constantly check out other sites, to see what's going on the in the world of Radio.

Like CCENG said, there are "Many Factors" involved in upgrading and/or moving a radio station, from the research I've done. 

You can't just upgrade and/or move a radio station, whenever you feel like it.  You have to go through the proper channels before you can carry out this costly task. 

And just because you may think a "Certain Station" can be moved closer to a "Certain City" doesn't mean its possible.  The study you'll have to condcut, before making any changes, may prove that this won't work out due to interference factors, spacing and/or other issues.

P.S. To cceng and any other radio worker that posts on here, hope I got my info correct.  I'm still wanting to pursue a radio station, of my own. (Along the lines of a local LPFM but if God leads me to do Full Power, I'll go for that) Although my door hasn't opened yet, I haven't given up and will continue to pursue this dream, until something awesome does happen.
