RDP --- I hope your dream comes true. You seem to certainly be trying. Keep working at it. As much fun as I try to
have on here trying to keep things light (because that's what radio should be all about) --- I've been fortunate to
have had some great opportunities happen (and forced some nightmares against my gut and/or common sense because
of greed or various other issues that have sunk me down pretty dern low. Yuck and ouch!)
Keep your faith and trust the doors WILL open with ease. Anything else, at least for me, is summed up by saying
'never touch a closed door or force it open.' Enjoy your posts. Oh, and as much as I hate to admit it (having fun here)
that CCENG dude is Charlie Wooten, the best Engineer, honest and always on his game. Most of his tower lights even work.
Saved me a couple dollar bills a time or two (times a few million, to be honest.) For which I am eternally grateful.
Read his posts and you'll learn a lot. He might respond back, too. Any pitfalls I can keep you from, let me know.
I've seem most of 'em real close. Cause I created most of them myself...
Tibbs2 you are correct about Charlie, I hope Charlie remembers this....back quite a few years ago, Charlie was our
engineer at the station I worked for near Tampa. (WDCF) We had a intresting thing going on with the transmitter.
Everytime we played "Yesterday" by The Beatles, the transmitter would shut off after the 2nd or 3rd note as if it
did not want us to play that song. Well, we called Charlie down and he looked at it. We took the station down into
a maintenance mode and everytime we started the song it would shut off. Charlie finally found the problem. There
was a slight imperfection with the tube inside the transmitter and the frequency of the 2nd note it would cause the
transmitter to shut down. Once the tube was replaced, it stayed on the air. It really takes someone to know their
stuff and Charlie found it.
Charlie hope all is well with you and CC has one of the best engineers in the business!
