Effective Sept 20 WPRO moves John DePetro to 6-10 am and pairs Ron St. Pierre with the Prince
of Providence, former Prov mayor and convict Buddy Cianci to 10-2, then Dan Yorke 2-6 pm...
because Clr Chnl's WHJJ is taking Rush over to WHJJ.
This is what could have happened in Boston had WKOX gone talk; they would have pulled
Rush over to 1200.
Birds of a feather, WRKO and WPRO: convicted felon radio. But Buddy's still beloved in Providence
isn't he? The loveable rogue...

Radio to take a shower by!  And those who stereotype Providence as a crooked little city run by organized crime now have even more ammunition...

Wasn't DePetro a muckraker who was constantly on Cianci's case? Now he'll be doing a crossover
with him just before 10 am each day.

Old cartoon with Buddy waving up to DePetro on a WHJJ bus...and that is Imus just above Buddy..

Nice cartoon - little did they know back then.....

All in all, a bizarre situation.  How very typical of Lil Rhody!

I don't think it's a city run by organized crime. It's more a city run, by wanna-be good fella's. If Buddy's name were Smith/Jones, he wouldn't have a job. It's an ethnic thing, and an embarrassing "condition" at that. People need their heros, even if they are tough guys behind the mike only.

Who can forget Buddy burning and striking a former friend (with the help of an armed 6'6 "state'y) or Depietro picking on the looks of the les candidate.

Last time I heard Buddy holds the Ma record for State Police escorts from the border, so he can trek to Logan in time to make his flights. Guess he can't do that any more.

Buddy with the fireplace log . . . it was NOT a State Trooper who was with Buddy on that fateful night; it was his PPD driver.

No member of the RISP would have allowed such an atrocity to occur in his or her presence, nor would Buddy, in my estimation, have allowed a member of RISP into his home . . .
