Very sad news.
A very nice man in a not very nice business.
May he rest in peace and in the knowledge that his good work on earth was noticed and appreciated.
As they say in my faith, "May the perpetual light shine upon him."
Sadly, the pompous a**, some guy named Pierce, filling in for Steve Leveille must have just brushed off Paul's death because at 12:13 A.M.he is on to talking about General Petreus. Unfortunately this bozo is in love with the sound of his own voice and continues to pontificate.

Another man of ultimate grace, class and courage taken from us - a sad day indeed.
Hopefully there will be a tribute (either on-air or a gathering of friends) to Paul at some time in the future.
RIP, young man.

The radio community has lost one of its own.
I never met Paul, never called into his program, and heard him on the air only a few times. However I feel a sense of loss this morning... he is our brother in this tight-knit world of radio broadcasting.
My condolences to Paul's family and friends.
R.I.P. Paul. God bless.

Reminds me of Ken Coleman Jr. aka Casey ("K.C.") Coleman, the son of a Red Sox broadcasting legend, who worked for years in Cleveland. Even though he was stricken with pancreatic cancer and it ultimately took his life, he still considered himself TLGITW: The Luckiest Guy In The World. He loved his friends, family, and colleagues and got love back, and was fortunate to have good luck and a good life. Same with Paul--RIP
Fybush notes: >>(As we write this early Monday morning, Dan Pierce is on the air filling in for Steve LeVeille, and he's talking about other topics.)

What a sad realization that WBZ Radio in the last 11 years has lost three wonderful nighttime personalities in Norm Nathan, David Brudnoy, and now Paul Sullivan. I moved away from Boston to the Midwest 10 years ago but of course was able to hear WBZ at night and Paul was always there, especially after David passed. Paul's battle with brain cancer was a tough one, but he was upfront with his listeners about it. I was rooting for him to beat it.
Thank you, Paul, for your wit, candor, and love of radio talk. You will be deeply missed.

This was terrible news to be greeted with this morning. Paul Sullivan was a truly gifted radio personality, someone who could host a talk/opinion show that actually let the listeners have their say. He was entertaining, informative and a class act. I never had the opportunity to meet Paul and I am poorer for it.
My deepest condolences to Paul's family, friends and colleagues.

I only caught a bit of Dan Pierce last night but I do agree that perhaps he should have put the political discussion aside for a bit so callers could reminisce about Paul. Perhaps that's what happened... did anyone hear more of the show? WBZ has a tribute up: http://www.wbz.com/pages/921097.php?contentType=4&contentId=895225when they were playing back some highlights, one of 'em had me laughing out loud. It may not be verbatim but he said the reason Mass. drivers don't use their blinkers is because they don't want to provide any information to the enemy!

in agreement with the feelings of loss and sadness from a professional standpoint. Sully proved you could be yourself and maybe even make a living at this radio thing.
to his family and his colleagues, my sympathies for your loss, and my envy for not having the opportunity to know the man personally. thankfully, we take with us today a little piece of Paul in knowing that what we heard is really who he was.

Spoke with Ted Jordan this morning at "W BZ radio" as their newsman would say and he too was disappointed with Dan Pierce's program last night filling in for Steve Leveille. He said they were a little unprepared for Paul's passing. Huh? Well, certainly Dan Pierce was. He started out as Pat Whitley's producer a few years ago and ended up in New Hampshire. So, there is no excuse for Pierce's inappropriate program on hearing about the death of Paul Sullivan.
Sort of like asking Mrs. Lincoln..." ...other than the shooting Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play...."
Bad form Dan Pierce !
