I on a whim only mentioned JMF's name to a friend that used to live in the south bay and the first thing she said to me was 610 KFRC. She loved listening to his show on KFRC. I mentioned Bobby Ocean and the first thing she said was also KFRC. I then mentioned DDR and again it was KFRC. I have to agree these three made the station along with the best PD's in the nation. Whatever happened to Joe Conrad? Anybody got any tapes of his shows on the Big 610?

Reelradio.com has an air check of Joe Conrad filling in for Dave Diamond on a Saturday night in November 1969...just a few months under 40 years ago....very mellow and low key.

The  Enthusiasm  that  John  Mack  Flanagan  and  Bobby  (what  a  guy)  Ocean  that  these  two  brought  to  bay  area  radio  is  un  surpased,, these  two  guys  really  made  you  love  radio,  The TOH  jingle,  and  the  voice  of  Bobby  or  John,  you  were  set  for  @  least  3  hours  of  SUPER  RADIO!  I  often  wonder,  will  there  ever  be  one  more  time  we  will  hear  these  legends  of  broadcasting  on  the  radio  again?  John   Mack  Flanagan  sure  livened  up  93.3  KYA,  when  he  took  Jeff  Youngs  slot  in  1990!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  These  two  guys  are  two  of  the  MOST  OVERLOOKED  djs  around!  Those  suits  @  Sirius/XM   should  have  had  the  sense  to  have  Ocean  or  JMF  instead  of  Bill  Lee!  You  never  get  what  you  want  in  radio,,  its  always  changing!   Kenny  in  Concord

yes KENNY IN CONCORD,  but the bottom line is...Booby O, John Mac, and all of Kenny's other favorites haven't worked full time in radio for the past decade!  Obviously Bill Lee and Ron Parker seem to be doing something correct as they both continue to work in Top 5 markets for the past 30 years!
And they sound great on CBS FM in New York City!  A radio station type that the great city of San Francisco could not support...I.E. KFRC.

Radiogroupie really should do thier homework. Bobby Ocean has worked full time with in this decade. John Mac is happy away from radio.
