Liddy & Hill have left the building!!!

Their photos taken off web site. Hugh Hewitt in their place. Welcomed Phoenix listeners!

Liddy got jealous Austin was freelancing on other big market stations and went behind his back several times to 70-something GM John Timm (he himself is on retirement mode).

I will especially miss Liddy & Hill's wonderful satire, the "PC Friday" feature.  Some of the material was classic.

The fact that the KKNT webmaster didn't clear off the website over the weekend suggests the deletion of Liddy & Hill occurred with little internal notice.

As I wrote a few years ago when they left KFYI: So Long Frick & Frack!

Well, if you check their official website, they are starting in a new home with national syndication on 3 October with Jones Radio Networks, with the broadcast being on KKNT, wait a minute, is that the original announcement that never changed?!?

I just looked at KKNT's website.  Is Dennis Miller on BOTH KKNT and KXAM?

Yeah, I heard Dennis Miller last night, a replay from the KXAM morning broadcast.[

Not sure, does KKNT do all 3 hours of Dennis?

Only a matter of time before KXAM loses this show.  KXAM is like A league baseball, if anything is good, it gets moved out of the minor leagues to a major station.

KKNT is a major station?  They're AA at best.

If you want to compare local news-talk stations to baseball...

Major Leagues:  None (That level is strictly for Top-10 market stations)
AAA:  KFYI, KTAR-FM
AA:  KPHX, KKNT
A:  KXAM
Sandlot:  KFNX

Compared to KXAM, the crystal radio set I got from Radio Shack in 1972 is a Major station. Grin

Come on now, you can say what you want about KXAM, you can make your comments about us and our programming all you want...

But there is not one thing wrong with our signal!

It's a nice East Valley licensed 5000 watt signal that covers most the valley pretty well during the day and our 500 watts at night does well in the East Side.

I don't know what your constant beef with this station is Neal, I don't know if maybe someone here once when you were a kid stole your ice cream cone or your Malibu Barbie and hung you by your shorts on a doorknob at band camp.... and I really don't care.

It's a free country... say what you want... but our signal?

Our signal, at least is a good signal. And there is no way it could sound like anything from 1972... I'm pretty sure the old beast was built in at least the early 80's.
