She said a "format change" and I thought she meant WGY was flipping!

Probably just a misspeak. WGY wouldn't flip. Rollye's phones are dominated by GY callers tonight.

Anyone else smell a cramdown from TRN here?

WGY is making a big mistake with Hendrie. I like many others now have xm in my car and a computer at home. I already listen to xm for both the am and pm drives and will just flip pc on to keep up with Rolleye in the house or xm when in the car. Phil Hendrie is very funny the first time you hear him but the endless repetition  doesn't keep my attention and his West Coast personna is something I can't relate to.   :

Wow.... this would surprise me.  WGY is a Clear Channel station and Clear Channel owns Premier.  I know CC has discouraged their stations from taking non-Premier programming when they can, especially Hendrie.

As for Rollye James, I gave it three months when she came on and just couldn't take it anymore.  Now she is filling in on Coast to Coast AM on a lot of Sundays, and she is a different persona there.   At least with Hendrie you know what you are gonna get.  Obviously I am a Hendrie fan. Rollye just wasn't my cup of tea.

Their discouraging sure hasn't worked then, when you consider how many Clear Channel stations carry Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, and entire networks like ESPN Radio.

I loved Hendrie before he "retired". Now he's just an embodiment of what he despised before. Enough with the talk shtick, get back with what you are born to do Phil. JEEEEZ (as Phil would say Tongue)

ROLLYE JAMES HAS EAST COAST TIES;
SHE GOT MARRIED IN BENINGTON!
TRN=TRUCKERS RADIO NETWORK?
SHE IS TOPICAL & UNAFRAID TO TALK
ABOUT REAL LIFE HOME GROWN &
RELATED ISSUES LIKE OUR F-'D UP
FAMILY & REPROBATE COURT SYSTEMS
& THE RELATED DEPARTMENTS OF SELF
GENERATING REVENUE WHERE CHILD
SUPPORT & BEAT DEAD DADS ARE
OF CONCERN & WORRY!

SHE IS NOT A PRO/ANTI BUSH PERSON!

SHE DOES NOT TOW THE LINE FOR EITHER SIDE!

HENDRIE IS A CALIFORNICATED LIBERAL!

SAVAGE IS SIMILAR IN THAT HE IS UNLIKE
ANY OTHER TALKING HEAD ON THE RADIO!

A SHOW SUCH AS PH SHOULD BE A XM-SORT!

RJ & SAVAGE APPEAL TO BROADER AUDIENCES!

EVEN RECYCLED GHOST STORIES APPEAL TO
MORE PEOPLE THAN A GUY PLAYING V.O. GAMES!

I'm not sure I follow all the comments.  You need to offer something unique during the off hours. Rolleye is different enough.  Though his shtick is shameful, so is Savage.  Hendrie is endless repetition and nonsense.  Even he grew tired of it all if only for a brief couple of years.
