for most this doesn't apply, but on k-rocks east side listening audience 104.1 is back in CT. which do you suppose is better. I'd say 104.1 is better for now but I am sure that will change unfortunately, 104.1 doesn't make it as far as greenwich but dies in stamford both are online krockradio.com k-rock http://1041music.com -the new station's website radio104.com for the hell of it.. since its different than the new 104 -OZ

once again....the "east side" of k-rock's audience, meaning lower fairfield county, you cannot pickup 104.1....go on a mountain somewhere or drive up past Bridgeport or up to Danbury, or get a car radio with EXCELLENT selectivity, then you'll pick it up in spots. The markets where K-Rock gets ratings aka Stamford and Bridgeport, really wont be affected and 104.1 doesn't market to those cities anyways.

I'm giving it a listen online, and so far it sounds like a clone of Radio 104.5 in Philly. Which means it's on the soft side and doesn't play much new music, but still brings a sound that is both more focused and less predictable than K-Rock. Then again, that's not difficult to achieve.

Still not enough focus on new music but I love the wide range of gold cuts I'm seeing played, particularly the female-based ones (Mazzy Star, Frente, K's Choice). Oh well, guess I'll have to settle for wall-paper radio here in NYC.

Gave K-Rock a listen when I was in Manhattan earlier today. It sounds a lot like 104.1 does, but with more Foo Fighters. (Ha ha!)
As for the east side of the market? Here's what I posted on the Connecticut board about my reception of both K-Rock and 104.1:
I came back from Manhattan early this afternoon. I left my Panasonic CD/AM/FM "Walkman" on 92.3 K-Rock up until about I-95 mile marker 20 in Westport. It was solid to decent to the Stamford/Greenwich city line. It got washed out completely in Stamford with the overload from the nearby 96.7 FM tower. It popped in a few more times and had almost nothing by Westport. At that point, I tuned over to the "new" 104.1 FM. I didn't really start getting a useable signal until Stratford or so. The signal was hardly there at all in the parking lot of New Haven's Union Station. Once I got onto CT Route 34, past the ominous lot that was the Coliseum, the signal came back solid and was good the whole way up I-91.

when 96.7 moves to NY I bet 104.1 Might make it to greenwich... any guesses? where I live in old greenwich is approximately 50 miles from radio 104.1's transmitter.. you have to also remeber that NYC is approximately 29 miles away. If it was not for the straight shot of water AKA the terrain to NYC, I bet all the CT station's would be making some kind of noise here in stamford/greenwich like they do on long island. Gave K-Rock a listen when I was in Manhattan earlier today. It sounds a lot like 104.1 does, but with more Foo Fighters. (Ha ha!)

They will not make it any farther because there are stations in NYC off the Empire State with adjacent frequencies aka 104.3 taking over 104.1's signal. The height of the NYC signals being 400 meters up, which is twice as much as the Hartford's, gives them an advantage as well. 96.7's tower has nothing to do with any of those signals not coming in, maybe 96.3 or 97.1 immediately around the tower.

the RF from 96.7 could make a little bit of a difference but not too much you are probably right on that one. They will not make it any farther because there are stations in NYC off the Empire State with adjacent frequencies aka 104.3 taking over 104.1's signal.
