Don't everyone start throwing bricks, but...

Now that AAR is involved in this financial
scamdal/scandal, I think the AAR traffic
on this board may be a high enough percentage
to justify a new board exclusively for AAR.

Like I said, don't everyone start throwing
bricks. You don't have to rehash your old
arguments. Just consider this new angle!

No it doesn't 954, you and others keep saying that but its still Radio related to News/Talk. I wasn't around when Rush was doctor shopping. If the comments had increased, would you say Rush deserves a board of its own? I would think your answer would be no. If you want to blame someone for the posts, blame the RW people on this board who are gleeful of the possibility that AAR will get smeared for something Evan Cohen did.

BTW: You don't know the facts about the alleged scandal until you look beyond what the RW Echo Machine is telling you.

This isn't a brick, its a reasonable comment.

How would you do it?  Would it be a board for "progressive talk" in general, or just AAR?  Would this board be correspondingly labeled "conservative talk?"  Would it still be just fine to be anti-Rush or anti-Franken on either board?  What would you do about hosts who aren't political?  Do they deserve their own board, too?  Where would you put topics that compare Rush and Franken, or comment on what Hannity said about Rhodes, or somehow rank hosts of all political stripes, etc.?  Would you cross-post them, so that two separate discussions emerge?  Would you just post a link from one board to another and say "Please comment on other board?"

Just asking.

Sports and Hot Talk already have their own boards.

To cover the Information based formats, you'd need to add Political Talk - Right, Political Talk - Left, Conversation or Advice Talk, and News.  You end up with a lot of small slices on the pie (and less activity in each).

The problem seems to be people who are more interested in politics and in having political arguements than in the art and business of radio.  I am amazed at how many people here have no tolerance for viewpoints which differ from their own.
Then again, I notice many people go on the music boards to argue their music is good, other music is bad; radio stations should play music they like and not bad music.

I'm amazed at how in democracy so many people want to be king.

Just wondering...

Just Talk.

Just like there's an Atlanta board and a Georgia board, as someone mentioned previously.

Would it still

You don't have to be an AAR fan to criticize Rush. *I* criticize Rush.

Start a SNL board for Frabnken if you want.

I think most of the people on r-i exercise enough common sense in posting to make it obvious that your questions are mere obfuscation.

Actually, maybe Talk scandals (Rush prescriptions and AAR sleaze in general) should  be a good topic for a new board. Fair and balanced.

There is no need for a seperate board. All Talk posts are welcomed here..PLUS it gives people the opportunity to read the other POV, which is part of the ideas behind the constitution. Constantly seperating and segregating leads to a divided country....and that is where we are headed.

United we stand...DIVIDED WE FALL.

If Rush had already been the biggest (no pun intended)
topic before the scandal, yes.

I don't really care. (I haven't once opined about
whether it is true or not.) Although  there would
be some poetic justice in this type of scandal
involvinga company whose corporate culture is to
promote big, corrupt, intrusive government.

I'm just observing that AAR, a minuscule segment of
the talk radio universe, comprises a majority of
the postings on this board.

Wouldn't that be the same kind of justification used
for giving Miami, Atlanta, and dozens of other places
their own boards?

Air America is promoting the Bush administration?  I'll have to listen more carefully.
