This guy isn't interested in bridges. He enjoys his island way too much.

London Bridge is falling down...falling down...

Besides, this is Dallas and not the rest of the United States. Radio may not be what it once was, but please don't diss our history!

Radio Truth:

I'll give you that sometimes one person does not like what another or a group of other people seem to be enamored by.

Steve Eberhart,

I will be happy to give you my name as soon as you get the names of every person who has ever told you that there was a great deal of talent both currently and in the history of Dallas radio.  I will be happy to give you my name as soon as you get the names of every person who told you that you and the rest of the KLUV djs both past and current were good.  You didn't ask for people's names when they are telling you how wonderful the history of Dallas radio djs was.  Well, my friend, you can't please all of the people all of the time.  I'm sure there are many others who share my opinion.  Are you so insecure that you can't take even one person saying that this market has an insignificant radio history when it comes to real talent?  The history of this market, and its djs, is cheaply imitating bigger markets.  There is nothing original here.  There never was and there never will be and this is also true of other things in Dallas that have nothing to do with radio.

Oh let's see. Who has attributed talent and praise to this market that doesn't work in it? Dick Clark, Walter Cronkite, Sam Donaldson, Scott Pelley, Sean Hannity, Larry Lujack, Don Steele, Paul Harvey, Ryan Seacrest, etc. Some I've heard in person. Some in passing. Some on the record in interviews. Others in casual conversation. For years any Country artist of note made it a point to visit or call Bill Mack's "Midnight Cowboy" show on WBAP. Johnny Cash, Kristofferson, Conway Twitty...you name it. I don't think they did so because Bill sucked. Same with Joyner. Same with Kraddick.

But then, why argue with a fool who only seeks to inflame? Who not only crafts his posts to insult professionals wholesale, but an area to which tens of thousands of people move every year? Who vote with their lives and families instead of their big mouths?

"Nothing original...never was and never will be." Heh-heh. That's a good one. [EDIT]

There may be others who share your opinion, but I suspect there are none who compare to your hubris.

Jody,

Excellent post, but if I were you I'd quit responding to RT.  It's a waste of time.

Seriously, when was the last time you ever turned on the radio to listen to popular music? 70's, 80's?
