Do you think Howard would ever go back to mainstream radio?

the entire radio playing field is such a mess that XM/Sirius will eventually feed product to terrestrial radio a la Law & Order Criminal Content...err...Criminal Intent going to cable after being on broadcast television, Battlestar Galactica re-emerging on Sci Fi Channel on cable after launching on broadcast television decades ago, or Sopranos moving from paid television (HBO) to regular cable TV.
Big business stifles creativity so they will merely pick up content that is out there and available.  It will be interesting if terrestrial radio did the logical thing and picked up internet radio but you can look forward to Howard being censored a bit and taking the cash.

USA Network is owned by General Electric, as is NBC and Universal, and two of the three Law & Order series remain on NBC.

Battlestar Galactica re-emerging on Sci Fi Channel on cable after launching on broadcast television decades ago...

SciFi Channel is also owned by GE...and the current Battelstar Galactica is an entirely new series.  BG launched on network television decades ago because decades ago network television was all there was.  Cable channels did not originate programming back then.

or Sopranos moving from paid television (HBO) to regular cable TV.

In reruns, on A&E, a channel owned by...(gasp)...GE!  Same move made by Sex & the City, onto TBS, a channel owned by Time Warner, the largest media conglomerate in the world.

Big business stifles creativity...

If it weren't for big business, you wouldn't know what Law & Order, Battlestar Galactica, the Sopranos or any other television shows were.

Yes, that's on my future reading list.  The author and I agree about what direction this country is taking.  The comment from Murrow is about 50 years old, but is extraordinarily relevant today.

Never say never, but never. He would never give up the freedom to say what he can say right now.
