What I don't get is why they didn't put Arum in that slot?  For what they wanted that slot to be (basically a funny, high-energy, night version of Slade's, show), Arum would have been perfect for it.  His show is essentially a "local, Atlanta-related Seinfeld" (i.e. it's a show about nothing).  But it is hilarious, and there are few people I know or listen to that know this city like Arum does.  It never made sense why they brought in a guy from Minneapolis when Arum would have rocked that slot.

I really hope they don't bring in Herman Cain.  No offense to Herman; great guy.  But we don't need anymore politics.  We don't need Boortz, Jr.  It boggles my mind that in an industry where behind closed doors, everybody recognizes that people are sick of politics already and are looking for more, they are too conservative to try anything different.  Heck, I'd take Ramsey over Cain (even though then that is two financial shows).

If WSB wants to do something that will actually help them catch back up to V103, they need to stop looking at an all politics lineup, put Arum in the 10 pm slot, wait out their contract with Savage and then look for something completely different for the 7-10 pm slot.

Just my two cents.

I couldn't agree more.  The non-stop political talk is a HUGE turn off for me, which is why my radio diet excludes all political talkers - this means I'm usually listening to Clark, Ramsey or WCFO (unless its a poorly produced fake interview posing as a local business interview thats really an advertisement for some company I've never heard of nor do I care to hear of). I grow weary of the soapboxes that Boortz, Savage, Hannity, Beck, et al stand and preach on.

I agree that Mark Arum would be a much better choice for 7-10PM.  He's smart, personable, funny and knowledgeable, and doesn't take himself too seriously.  He would be a big hit and probably bring some younger people to WSB.  A great guy in real life, too.

I did'nt always agree with Krok's  views but atleast it was local radio talking about local issues.
Unfortunately, radio execs could care less about making radio unique to the market they are in.
Whats even worse is they let people go just before Christmas. No Heart!

Btw, I do like listening to Mark Arum's show as well.

Interesting. V103 is #1 with quite a bit of competition in the market. WSB-AM is #2 with almost no competition.

I wouldn't go that far.  To say WSB has no competition is a bit extreme.  Sure WGST can't compete with their signal, but WGST has Limbaugh and Ramsey - who are both "better" than Hannity/Boortz and Howard.  Sure Limbaugh and Ramsey don't get the ratings of Boortz & Howard in Atlanta - but I think you got to ask yourself is that because they are better programing or is that because they are on the stronger station?

I liked Krok's show.  I can usually pick up WSB at night here in Louisville.

I think Boortz is far more entertaining than Limbaugh.  Don't listen to Howard or Ramsey.

I did enjoy Chris Krok's show a lot.
