And by the way, as a long time fan of the Twilight Zone, I agree with the critics when the show originally ran.
The hour shows would have worked much better as half hours, and several of the half hour shows could have worked as hour episodes.
More the former than the latter. I've always felt that the half-hour format was best for TZ, and for Serling's writing skills. (Some of the best hour shows were not written by Serling.) Most of the hour-long shows in general move too slowly and have a lot of padding, although there are a few good ones.
I was also pleased to see that, contrary to what I claimed in an earlier thread, they do appear to have the original masters of the 6 videotape episodes. I've been busy and only caught one of them ("Twenty-Two") and it was clearly tape. You could even see a few specks of dropout now and then, and a few of the edit points seemed original (had that little one-frame "glitch" characteristic of early physical tape edits). I could swear that in the past I've seen these episodes as poor quality kinescopes of the original tape -- perhaps in an earlier syndication package, they didn't have the original materials or best copy always available.
