The group I am a part of the chairman did a sat. dish test and it work fine.

We have local programming on Sundays and Weekdays from 5-6PM there will be more.

Care to elaborate on that "group?"

I am getting my lic. trainning from WCRS the LPFM community station. OMW is nothing more than blowhard know nothing blog. Like most right wingers they don't want any balance and want to keep the populace from hearing the other side.

No offense, but do you have your head on straight?  Why would ANYBODY waste their time "volunteering" for a for profit entity?  The fact that you would waste your energy to fill someone else's pocket with money shows a whole tone of naivete on your part.

Because they believe in the cause of Progressive Talk Radio and they feel they are getting something out of it.

One of my best friends on this planet is chucking at someone throwing the "right wing" label at yours truly and the Mighty Blog(tm).  Cheesy

I've already typed a bunch of responses to this, in a back and forth with Ohio Majority Radio organizer Russ Childers on the WVKO message board.

http://www.wvko1580.com/forums/

Anything I have to say about the topic, and the fallout from our earlier entry on WVKO, is there.  I'm not going to copy and paste it here.

And to think...since I'm a fan of Stephanie Miller, and have said so repeatedly here and on the blog, I'm a "right wing blowhard" wishing WVKO's demise!  Last time I checked, WVKO airs her program daily at 9 AM.

'Enough said.  I'll just close that my criticisms were radio-related, not politics related, and I'm getting pretty tired of overheated activists on BOTH sides (you should see what happens when I say something that isn't 100% complimentary of a conservative host!).

It is amazing how hateful some of you can be just because of political affiliations. It baffles my mind. I would never wish an organization, or an individuals demise due to their political affiliation alone. Now if that organization, person/persons are douchebags, then that is a different story all together. From what I know of the management at WVKO I wish them well with their venture, and I support the community in their quest to listen to  progressive talk radio.

Here's the rub, someone once told me you can't polish a turd. The progressive talk line-up is by far the worst in terms of production value, entertainment, and relevance. Guess what... That is the basic triangle of radio programming. A monkey with cymbals could sit behind the mike and do a progressive talk show the way they are done now. Same topics, same takes, no entertainment value, no production value, very little relevance. So my question is, what will happen 1st, will that stinky turd gets flushed out of the market, or will it be polished up and become a sparkling stinky turd?

So now we know why WYTS dropped Progressive Talk.  They were afraid people would call it AM Twelve-Turdy.

Of course, if this were Chicago, no one would be able to tell the difference.

The "no volunteer" rule is due to labor laws.  You can't have people working for nothing.  They can, however, work for college or school credit.

I'm not in Columbus, but WVKO should succeed because it's only good for all radio to have different voices.  But, they can't be shocked if the poor audio quality or unreliable signal causes criticism.
