He's on for 4 hours Monday-Friday. He hardly spends 'all of his time' trashing P&S. Its just something he does in addition to all of the other GOLD the Kidd Chris Show produces. Cheesy

Kidd Chris will never win if he spends all of his time and energy trying to get people on P&S, or trying to get people to mock P&S at their appearances.  And he won't win by constantly ripping P&S on his show.  Typically, you don't win by spending so much time and energy ripping the competition on your own show.  The one exception, of course, is Howard Stern.  That's how he eventually took down DeBella.  But that's the ONLY exception I can think of, and KC is no Howard Stern.

The ONLY exception........The 1/2 billion dollar man....KC is gold!

Seriously?  KC "Fans" are still thumping their chests about this?  It happened almost 3 months ago.  Nothing else interesting has happened on the KC Show since then?  Other than P&S STILL holding twice the ratings that KC has?

He thinks he is, though.  That's exactly why he's doing this.

This is the same thing, just 18 years later.  Same stations, same morning styles from the two shows and everything.  Just that one guy is a hall of fame innovator in the genre who had already achieved multiple years of number 1 ratings in another major market, and the other one isn't but thinks he is.

When Opie & Anthony were feuding with Don & Mike, they tried to take the Stern position to Don & Mike's Deballa position, too.  Opie even called Don "Don Debella" on the air on that day when Don kept calling the O&A show and Opie kept hanging up on him.  It was different only because the two shows were on the same stations.  The contest was fought to a draw, essentially.  O&A won in their home city, D&M won in theirs (O&A weren't fired there for lack of ratings, but they did lack ratings), and, in Philly, both stayed on and were fairly successful until O&A got fired and D&M took afternoons.

On this board, yes, because this site was recently brought up on both the show and the Underbelly Messageboards (hence the names like BigDangDudeFan, Couzin Ed, and Not Couzin Ed) for a completely different topic (Couzin Ed, obviously).

Speaking of DeBella, has anyone Google'd WYSP lately? DeBella's website shows up above the fold.

His meta keywords:   content="John DeBella, DeBella, JDB, 94 WYSP, 94.1WYSP, The Rock Station,Philadelphia, Philadelphia Radio, radio, entertainer, humor, music, Delaware Valley, morning zoo, WMMR, e-quest, Planet DeBella, concert listings, Philadelphia Eagles Football, Howard Stern

Kinda funny that the WMGK morning guy doesn't have WMGK there.  Seems like KC should be going after DeBella for web traffic and 104.5 for listeners.

That's weird. My blog shows up third in the results.

According to KC, Debella is currently a non-factor in the morning radio wars, and 104.5 is no threat either. He also mentioned that while he ticked upward, so did P&S.

Fuel for the fire.

Spoken like a man who hasn't a clue. Anyone beating your ratings like a red headed stepchild, IS a factor. The ratings I saw showed the KC show was outperformed by the rest of YSP.  He must be refering to the target men 18-24. Outside of that demo, Spike and Jennifer Reed have him beat in total Cume. Does the old adage, "..if you don't get mail, you don't matter.." still stand?  Half of his presumable target demo still live at home with mom. Middle school phone bits along with VISUAL bits like the K-Y slip and slid are hard to convert into ratings. YSP's numbers spike when they flip to music intense.

Some factual numbers... If you look in the April 11th Issue of R&R.. they did an article on KC and posted some #'s.

They posted Mornings- Persons 18-34... going from November 07-Feb 08.

P&S-  Up 2.2  including Up .8 from Jan-Feb.

KC-    Up 1.9  DOWN, although only .2 from Jan-Feb.

P&S still pulled more than double that of KC in that demo.

Other notables...

WRFF-  Down 5.4 from November-Feb including Down .9 from Jan-Feb.

MGK- Down 2.1 Nov-Feb, but up .6 Jan-Feb.

KC has better ratings than when he started, yes, but P&S haven't slipped at all with KC's presence, and still dominate.  At least in that demo.
