I agree Mark, thats always a great thing.  The best thing for Cumulus Indy is that the Dickeys have left this untouched (besides a few things).  But for the most part have forgot that Indy existed when micro-managing.

Ive heard that AMP is on a contiuous downspiral.  Its really sad to see what used to be some great stations continue to suffer under the hand of the Angotti's.

Supposedly Lafayette and Bloomington were approached for a buy by some owner in Illinois.  Art said the stations were for sale at 14 MILLION.  Are you serious?  The company is a serious mess right now, and its really sad to see.  I heard through the grape-vine that AMP Lafayette last year only made in the ballpark of 935K.  Bloomington did okay, but not that amazing!

Actually I don't think they've left it untouched, meaning they do micro-manage it.  What they haven't done as it relates to WFMS is gotten to stupid.

I like to guage the country music temperature in Indiana by how WFMS scores.  Bob does a super job keeping that thing together despite Cumulus's micro-managing.

I said someone should do oldies and they'd do well.  Guess What?  WKLU is now whipping The Track.
They are just 2 10ths of a point from 105.7

WKLU is *whipping* The Track?  What is your statement based on?

The ratings link posted at the beginning of this thread have WKLU at 3.8 and WNTR (The Track) 3.3.
Considering WKLU has much less power, what do you call that?  An ass whipping!

some say : "Russ Oaisis is a jerk who can't do anything right."

Congratulations on a great book.  With the trends considered December must have been ginormous.

He gets more heat than the far away corporate owners who could care less. Glad to see a growing share for a small station. And considering he isn't 50kw this is even more of a positive for him.

WKLU was the only station doing tv during the rating period. The smallest operator in town spent the most money on marketing. They are seeing the results of it now.

Have you ever heard of anybody listening to a radio station because the owner is a nice guy?

I don't think so.  People listen because they like the jocks and the music.

Some believe Oasis is his own critic on this board.  If so, just call it marketing.

Am I the only one who shakes his head whenever he sees TTS at anything below a 2.0?
With the signal reach that station has why should it put up with anything below a 4!?

lol

WKLU is also getting STOMPED by it's most direct competitors:  WFBQ, Jack, The Track.  So what, they beat WNOU?  Big deal.

Why are their so many people so hateful about WKLU on this board? For years they had only a fraction over a one share, now look at them. This station is a true success story. I listen every afternoon on my way to appointments in my work, I find myself listening more and more. Their on-air people I really like in the afternoon hours, they just say enough, if you know what I mean. It seems they have a lot less noise than does Q95 and many of the others in town. Grant it I don’t like everything about them. Anyone who listens to WNOU would never listen to WKLU and visa-versa. To compare the two is like comparing grapefruit to apples. Perhaps I am misinformed, correct me if I am wrong??

Why, I can not believe that you and I finally agree on something. One, your finally accepting the fact you’re "misinformed" that’s good. My efforts here are beginning to show results. Your right also, Jeff Lewis does an awesome job in the afternoons on this station. But why is their so much Antipathy towards WKLU on this board? It is very suspicious, way to much emotion involved for people who don’t have a vested interest in this organization. Any ideas?

All this talk of ratings and no one mentions WIBC and their huge move!  A lot of people on this board were skeptical of their flip to FM.

Now that this experiment seems to be working, will we see this become a trend with heritage News Talkers?
