LAT TV to sell their O&O's
« on: July 18, 2008, 01:16:52 AM »

Yesterday, LAT TV officially filed silent STAs for both of their O&O stations: KCVH-LP 30 Houston and KVPA-LP 42 Phoenix.  Justification for each station's request was a terse statement, "THE STATION IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING SOLD AND HAS DISCONTINUED BROADCASTING FOR FINANCIAL REASONS."  (All-caps in original documents.)

There's still some value in a LPTV license, and I'm sure LAT-TV needs to pay down debt before completely dissolving.  Would be nice if something innovative and different would come to these channels, but I'm ready to be disappointed.

They should be able sell each station for at least a million dollars.  However, if they are desperate or in a hurry they might not be able to realize their full value.
