Opie and Anthony Ousting

There's a story on All Access today regarding Opie and Anthony's ousting at 95X in Syracuse.  Within the story there's this...

"While the morning team discussed the ousting they mentioned briefly that the same thing almost happened at CITADEL Active Rock WEDG/BUFFALO. But a last-minute deal was struck, keeping them on the air".

Is this new or old news?  Anybody got the story?

The day O&A is gone and S&R are back in the AM would be a most welcome day.  I find nothing to latch onto in terms of engaging content.  I can't imagine a business asking to run ads during it.  Anyone know of any?

HAH! S&R have discovered the joys of NOT getting up at 4:00AM, and are KILLING in afternoon drive.

I agree that O&A suck, and that Citadel corporate made a huge mistake in bumping S&R. Rumor has it that they almost let S&R go altogether in favor of O&A. I'd bet that revenues in AM drive shrank considerably with O&A.

What's next if O&A get the bullet? I think that it will be tough to move S&R from afternoons, where they've established a successful show and are bringing in local dollars. I could see Citadel plugging in Imus in the morning - as if THAT would fly. At least he'd be cheaper than O&A, and he's owned by Citadel, but Imus is a cadaverous spectre of his former self - and WAY out of The Edge's demo.
