The story from Palm Beach about Danny Czekalinski may contain something germane to this story:  The DA declined to press charges there (in part) because the alleged victim had been drinking.  I saw nothing of that in the arrest warrant.  Anybody else know anything.

PS:  I am not saying it's right to do that.  It's just REALITY.  The case against Russ is stronger because of the physical evidence (hair ripped out of head, bruise on leg, etc.).

She can always back out of pressing charges...happens all the time.  Then they cycle continues.

From my DV experience, I was told the case was state vs the abuser. I had option that I could have a one on one (in person only) meeting with DA staff if I wanted to drop the charges. But basically it would mean I would not being testifying, did not mean they would not persue the case. Since I was married to abuser, they could not force me to testify if I dropped charges.
