This is why I can't stand to watch Murphy and Fales.  They have to make themselves as part of everything.  They can't just come back from a story.  They have to get themselves involved in the story, to make the story about what clown act they're doing in it, instead of just telling the story.

Murphy and Fales are phonies.  They're clown acts.  And beware if they come at you doing a story.  There can be a hidden agenda and they will get the interview saying the story is about one thing, then show up asking questions about something else.

I hardly think that KCCI is where it is today by copying WOI and WHO. There's a reason they're #1--sure tradition does help, but I know that I can always rely on KCCI to be first on air with breaking news, and have the most accurate news and weather information. Pretty much everyone on their staff is more seasoned than the kids at WOI and WHO, and they did win the regional Murrow for overall excellence, which I'd say means something.

Yes, KCCI does good work but lately they've been slipping. On more than 1 occasion lately I've seen stories on WHO and WOI that KCCI doesn't get to until a few days later. Most of those don't have any sort of important time element, but rather features that seem like stolen ideas from competitors. KCCI still does a great job with breaking news and quality weather...but overall the competition does just as equal of a good job. And by the way if I'm not mistaken WOI won a Murrow award a few years back. They opened each newscast by announcing that they were honored with a Murrow award.
