They've also been playing "American Idiot", "Welcome To Paradise", & "When I Come Around", too all by Green Day

They should just drop the Classic Rock pretense and go modern.  I would like them to take the path of WJQX in Birmingham (From AllAccess Music Group):

Birmingham's 100.5 Goes 'Live'
Alternative/AAA/Hot AC
CITADEL has flipped the former home of Sports WJOX -- 100.5 FM, now WWMM -- to an Alternative/AAA/Hot AC hybrid as "LIVE 100.5, BIRMINGHAM'S MODERN MUSIC." The first official songs, DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE/I Will Possess Your Heart, and PEARL JAM/Daughter, followed a format intro of BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN/Radio Nowhere and R.E.M./Radio Free Europe.

The station had been simulcasting WJOX, now at 94.5 FM.  The BIRMINGHAM NEWS reports that DAVE ROSSI, the PD at the old Alternative WRAX (which occupied the 100.5 slot at one point), will be PD of the new station.

ROSSI, who has most recently has been doing A&R work since exiting the PD post at now-defunct APEX Alternative WAVF (96 WAVE)/CHARLESTON, SC,  told ALL ACCESS, "The station is AAA without the Classic Rock, Alternative without the abrasive hard heavy music, and it's even a bit Hot AC. I think this may be the coolest Hot AC station in the world."

I suggest taking a page from 101x and mix it up a little with programming.

aren't they positioning as 'the rock of texas'?  If so, doesn't adding green Day, who was HUGE in the mid-90's, help them?  Last time I checked them out I figured they were ceding 'classic rock' to ZPS, ceding the metalheads to the Eagle, and battling Jack for the 30-40 year old rock fan.

Some of their liners say, "The Rock of Texas", then others mention "Classic Rock".  Meanwhile they go from Kid Rock to Rush, so who really knows what they're doing.  Hopefully they'll flip to something good, cause what they're doing now ISN'T.  They're one of only 2 stations in D/FW whose numbers have dropped each of the last 4 books.  I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who's noticed that.  By the way, I'll save you the trouble of looking it up, KDGE is the other one.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the PD have little leeway with regard to playlists when towing the corporate line and heeding focus group studies?
