Tripp Lite BC Pro 1050 UPS problem

I have a Tripp Lite BC Pro 1050 UPS that has an issue.  The batteries in it were old and failing, so I replaced them.  When I plug in the unit, I get a blinking yellow light next to the battery icon that has the line through it, along with the green AC light.  I'm assuming this means insufficient charge on the batteries.     (I've been unable to locate a manual for it around here.)  I've checked the batteries...they measure 19.82 volts.  It passes AC when plugged in, but pull the plug and it dies with no lights.  I've checked the fuses, they are good.  Any ideas anyone?  Thanks.

Schematics for UPS units are essentially impossible to obtain as Tripp-Lite and ADC consider their circuit designs to be proprietary information. I've tried.
As far as what you're experiencing, have you contacted T-L? Usually they are helpful.
And, on a somewhat related note, over the last 15 years I have had far fewer problems with ADC UPS's than with Tripp-Lite.

 You say the batteries measured 19.82 volts. If it is using two 12 volt batteries I think you should be reading a little better than 24 volts if the batteries are charged . Try another set of batteries if you have one.  The gel cell batteries can show a good charge if you check the voltage but not be able to furnish any real current (amps). If you can, test them under a load. I use an old headlamp from my car. If the batteries  are charged the voltage should not drop below 12 volts for several minuetes. It could be a problem in the chargeing part of the UPS also or many other things. My bet, based on the battery voltage you said you measured, is a bad battery.
