CN8 New England to Close
« on: November 06, 2008, 06:12:46 AM »

CN8 New England will cease operations and split its remaining regions (Mid-Atlantic and DC) into two separate channels. (http://www.bizjournals.com/washington/stories/2008/11/03/daily80.html).

It's likely that any sports programming will move to Comcast SportsNet New England. Other than the St. Patrick's Day breakfast/roast and the New England Emmys, what other local programming does CN8 air and/or produce that may seek a home elsewhere?

No big loss here in southern CT. It was very Boston-centric anyway.

Don't forget the CN8 Candlepin Challenge, currently the only Candlepin Bowling show left. It will probably be gone as well, unfortunately.

No big loss for CN8.

I say put a Candlepin bowling show on TV38. Perhaps in HD! Cheesy

I hope CSN goes under, too. Now that I have FIOS I still have to put up with Comcast's BS. They won't license out any Celtics road games in HD to any of their competitors because they want them exclusively on CSN(they're putting up billboards on every Mass. highway saying that every Celtics game in HD is exclusively on CSN). A-holes! I hate Comcash, I hope they go into Chapter 11 or Chapter 7 soon and take annoying Tanguay and obnoxious Felger with them.

It's interesting you bring up CSN, because I heard that the Candlepin Challenge may actually be moving there, which would make sense. It would get more viewers as well, because I think CSN is also available on RCN and FiOS (and maybe even DirecTV and Dish).
