So, you have the power to change your preset to another radio station. Use it. And, stop pissing and moaning about how much you dislike X-mas format in every other post.
There are hundreds of people in local retail who will be losing their jobs in a month from now. These people will not be getting their seasonal bonuses which make up 1/3 of their annual income directly impacting them and their families. And, you're bitching about a temporary format like you're really impacted by it. There are stores in the new mega mall in Natick that are breaking and getting out of their leases as we speak because nothing's selling. Have you walked thru a big dept anchor store during the day? There's more sales help than customers. And the mall's owners are on the verge of filing for Chapter 11.
Get a grip on reality, mate.
It may sound nice to hear and put some folks in the holiday spirit, but all Christmas music on the radio is not going to help the ecomony. If people don't have the money, they don't have the money, nothing you can do about it, except wait for the ecomony to get better. Cutting back is the only option right now. I understand it will be very difficult for some folks who struggle to pay the bills and support themselves or their families. Everyone needs to learn that Christmas is NOT about getting presents. It's about celebrating the birth of Jesus and being with the ones you love. Sure it's nice to want to give something, but if anyone EXPECTS to get anything, that is not what Christmas is about. Many kids are too young to understand that, but the reality is, they may not get what they want for Christmas, and parents will have to teach them that you can't always get what you want, even Santa can only do so much. That's life, and you must accept it, and do the best you can.
Also, if I had a choice about when these stations played Christmas music, it would be nice to have it mixed in with the regular format starting the day after Thanksgiving, and then a swtich to all Christmas on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, if they wanted to.
