Yo, Doc...clarification:

I didn't mean that KAZG popped on at 6:19 AM today.  I don't know when they did,
although I'd guess 6 AM LST*...I just happened to tune in around 6:18-6:19 and
they were on the air.

*: LST = Lamptimer Standard Time

Even more interesting is that over the weekend on Saturday, KAZG played by the rules and didn't pop-on until sometime around normal sunrise time for November: 7:00 A.M. I checked off and on from 6:15 A.M till about 6:45 A.M. Saturday morning and there was nothing but the faint sound of that mystery classical station on the 1440 dial. So I guess whatever KAZG is doing (PSRA or full power 5000 watts), this is just a weekday thing.

Notice how none of the usual Sandusky suspects have commented on our catch of KAZG's rather "unusual" morning activity? Must be some top-secret stuff!  Grin

Without The Positive Side of Sports in AMD, Mrs Gumpdusky is saving about $37.50 a day by not using the PSRA between 6a and 7am.  Plus the Goldminers get an extra hour of sleep!

Now this morning--it was around 6:20-6:25--the Lumberyard was on with its
PSRA (or 52 watts*? Grin).  The signal was definitely marginal--not five gallons.

*: Yeah I know, catfish (with a "c"), they can't get the old rig down to 52 watts!

Yes indeedy!  The ol catfish (with a lower case c) has been laying low in the canal next to Lumberyard 14~Forty.  And KOOL KAZG Listener Lauren still hasn't 'splained to us why a new xmttr can't be used for nighttime broadcasts.  hmmmmm.....the Nurse and I'd sure like to be flies on the wall when the Gumpdusky Grand Poobahs review the capital request for a new Nautel xmttr for the Goldmine.  There's something rather Kookie going on here!

ain't nothing kookie at all happening.. capital is next year.. new nautel can run at 52 watts no problem and it will be plugged into the internet as your computer is (internet time,time-nw.nist.gov) to do all those 3 huge power changes pre programmed by nautel in the inboard server to do those power changes to the second...  no there's not much of a ground system but it will still work..  Lips sealed  I think the grill needs to be fired up and let's have a tofu cookout with red bull shots to keep us up as the construction starts...

YIKES!  Double YIKES!  What in the Wide, Wide World of Sports will Nurse Jeff and I have to do if Gumpdusky retires the lamptimer?  Guess we could hang with catfish (with a lower case "c") and hoist a few Red Bulls while debating the age old question: Was the Vega GM's answer to the Gremlin?

I also wonder if the world is READY for 52 watts of "Kookie" all night long!

If the Chevrolet Vega was the answer....what in the world was the question?

Three decades ago, in dire need of wheels, I bought a '75 Chevy Vega and the previous owner, apparantly out of pity, threw in another '75 Vega as a 'parts car.'

I bought license tags for them as "Las 1" (the working car) and "Las 2" (the parts car).

My neighbor spent about a month trying to figure out the significance, and finally came by with a beer to congratulate me on my aquisition of said "Las Vegas."
