Noticed last week that for the first time in about a year, the Lumberyard, during their oldies music block, has brought back commercials!

Actually, in particular, it's one commercial that's political in nature. The ad, being run by a super PAC backing Newt Gingrich called "Winning our Future", claims in the commercial that the people need to "take back the Republican party." They criticize the party for nominating Bob Dole, John McCain and in the ad they say, "Now they’re giving us Mitt Romney?" The ad then directs listeners to visit a website called "Time to Choose." It claims to not be endorsed by any candidate, but a cursory search shows that the super PAC supports Newt.
My question is this: is the Lumberyard trying to go politico on us here? After a year or so of not having a single commercial except for public service announcements, looks like the Lumberyard couldn't resist the big ad dollars coming from Newt. Unfortunately, just like Newt's chances in the race, the Lumberyard has few followers and his ad dollars probably could have been better spent on other stations. I'm not complaining, though, it's nice to see somebody, anybody throw ad dollars Gumpdusky's way for our beloved Lumberyard. Something has to pay for that nifty new Nautel transmitter, might as well be "cheerful" Newt!
