I know you guys have missed the Future Of Jazz With Chris, and I have had to run some encores while Chris gets settled in with his new terrestrial radio station in Nashville.  Good news!!  I have a brand new show this week, so please join us at a brand new air time of 12:00PM Eastern.  I am sampling the show as I type, and the FOJ has got some great tunes queued up...some stuff you have heard on The .wav, and some stuff you haven't heard.  Great to have the FOJ back on Sundays! Smiley

Were gonna miss you hoss!!!!!

Don't mean to cry wolf, but two longtime listeners and RI friends have graciously offered to pitch in and help keep the station on the air!  I explained to these gentlemen that the biggest challenge for me has been keeping up with new music service and keeping the station current.  Thankfully, they have agreed to help me with this, so "The .wav" lives on.  I must say I was very conflicted about the decision, so I am grateful that I can keep bringing you the music with a little help from my friends!!!! WoooHooo!!!!  Honestly, if you would have just keep everything like it is now, I wouldn't have minded.  But I also understand about adding new music.  I don't know how you do your adds, but as long as you DONT look at music charts and just use your instincts!!!!

Well, gang.  My stream server has been down for several hours, so I guess it's no better time than the present to tell everyone that I am saying goodbye, at least for now.  This is a VERY difficult decision for me, but the right one at this time.  Working full time, raising two young children and all that goes with it is quite the handful, too much so to handle the added pressure of keeping the station current, tight, and where I want it to be.  You guys deserve better.  I hope over the last 40 months I have been able to give you all a place you could call "home" as far as this genre goes.  I want you to know that I have enjoyed every minute of it, and will cherish the lasting relationships I have developed here on this board and privately.  But unfortunately, I just don't have the time, money, or passion to continue to expend the effort to keep a 24/7 operation tight and current.  I am at peace with what "The .wav" stood for and what it became, but it is time to move on and enjoy others' programming for a change. Cheesy  Who knows?  Maybe I can become one of those guys who produces a two-hour show each week and leaves it to some other poor sap to handle the remaining 166 hours each week. Grin  And if I get the itch down the road to turn the lights back on, you guys will be the first to know.  But I won't lie to you, gang.  I'm going to miss it. Embarrassed

Peace,

Chris

I must have miss this post. I'm sorry to hear that you have to step away. The Wav is an awesome station. But it is great to have such great friends to help you keep it going. Cool

Greetings!  This morning I have been listening for about two hours from 1100 to 1300 eastern, and y'all are doing a wonderful job with the Format!  Good flow, nice melodies, compelling with good energy but not too "out there".  Well done.

Appreciate the kind words, ABQRADIO.  With both of us being huge fans of Steve Hibbard, it means a lot that we're hitting the spot with true NAC fans.  Thanks for listening and riding The .wav! Grin

OK, a brief but bizarre update for TuneIn mobile app listeners.  Since this past Saturday, you have heard Christmas music, 70s, 80s, 90s, basically EVERYTHING but my station.  I have been in regular contact with the TuneIn folks advising them of this.  They apologized and claimed to have resolved it.  But sure enough, I heard Papa Don't Preach by Madonna this morning at 8:00AM EST, then a tag "The Classic Hits Station."  Not sure if it is the "Ghosts In The Machine" (80s pun), or there are nefarious intentions afoot (a stream hack and redirect) by someone trying to force a flip of another Smooth Jazz station.  But I can assure you wavjazz.net is STILL on the air and STILL playing the music you are used to hearing.  Hopefully the quirky TuneIn issue will get resolved at some point today.  Suffice it to say, I am trying to get to the bottom of it.  It makes no sense to me.  Peace.
