Curt Monday was a great guy to work with. I also worked with him at WBEE for several years before he moved on. As matter of fact, I was tasked to take over afternoon drive for about 3-months after his departure from WBEE while still keeping down my full-time job at the same time. I miss Curt. I've got to make it a point to track him down in Nashville.

"Rockin' Rich Albert has joined this thread!!! Yeah Man!! Hey Rich, I still have your bottle of Rockin' Rich's Magic Potion #9. Great Plastic cleaner!! Good to see you here man. West coast is no excuse. When the WKLX Reunion happens, you need to be there!! I am going to try and get Dan Wachs and Bob Dodenhoff as well to join us, as well as Alex James who is long out of Radio, but living in Florida.

Rockin' Rich! Great to see you on here! I agree with PJ: come hell or high water, when we get together you HAVE to be there!
I'll reach out to Curt and "Shotgun" Mike Saffran. They'll be interested in this!

Hello Everyone! Got a heads up from Jim Feuerstein in regards to a 'KLX reunion ~ awesome! My days in radio, believe it or not, were my days at 'KLX & 'BEE. Being in Nashville has been interesting, but not where I want to retire. I'm working for Clear Channel Nashville. That's "NewRadio 1510, WLAC" & "The Big 98, WSIX." Who knew?! Corporate radio! Bill Todd was the man! He initially encouraged me to try my hand at programming. Jim Lawrence, Rich Albert, Paul Jason, Mike Vickers, Rich "Cashman" Jones, Mike Saffran, and everyone responsible for creating "the magic!" You're all missed deeply! Let's not forget Bob & Dan either! They gave us encouragement & the tools to build the hottest Oldies station in town! If you're talking 'bout a reunion, I'm sure it'll be smokin'! Count me in! Idea! Let's make it a monster, must experience event! Be well. Blessings!
"Curt Monday/Coyote Collins"

OK, time to check in - thanks to Rich 'Jumper' Jones for pointing this out to me (I work with Rich at present). Just a hello to everyone from the KLX days - Rockin' Rich, Paul, Jim Feuerstein, 'Uncle' Curt Monday Boykin, and all. In recent news, it turns out my old friend Kevin Becker (aka Dave Andrews) is doing some part-time work at WSIX and recently ran into Curt at a shift change.
I look back on the KLX days with many fond memories. Even though I'm an old hermit these days (and officially a Senior Citizen) I think a KLX reunion is one I could not miss. Does anyone know where 'Dee Collins' (Of Dave and Dee in the morning) is these days or if she is still in radio?
Somewhere I think I still have a pile of old KLX staff lists. If I can find them I'll post a list of all the names if anyone is interested.

Peter King checks in! And I definitely want in if this reunion does come off! My nearly three years at 'KLX were memorable and mostly lots of fun, and frankly, had I not been canned unceremoniously on my birthday in 1993, I wouldn't be where I am now(Orlando and working for CBS News!). I have a pile of airchecks including the infamous "Electric 99" April Fools Day format change-KC and the Sunshine Band never sounded so good! Will be happy to contribute what I can!

I am so happy to see such excitement about the possibility of a WKLX Reunion! I would be very happy to take on the duties of planning the event if we get enough people who want to participate. I am thinking Spring of 2009 in the Rochester area! If you would like to participate, please email me all of your contact information, and I'll then start to put some things together. The first thing I would like to do is compile a current contact list of all former employees. Then we can decide on a date that looks good for everyone. Once we pick a date, I'll secure a place to hold the reunion. I'll even volunteer the services of my DJ Company to provide the entertainment. In my current position as on-air talent at Rochester's Oldies Station, WLGZ, I am sure I can convince management to allow us to get on the air with some kind of Reunion Special! It would be a blast to produce such a program. So if any of this sounds good, email me NOW! My email address is: usafpilot@rochester.rr.comPaul Jason

Nice! Paul, I'll drop you an email. Let me go through my stack of obsolete radio schtuff and see if I can pull any photos and airchecks from "back in the day". I still have so much stuff referencing "Sheriff Andy Taylor" that it boggles the mind.
