« on: December 29, 2008, 07:44:38 AM »

Heard a promo over this weekend that 102.3 will change formats Monday (the 29th) at 10:23 a.m.
Went to surf to WLFE's website and it takes you to ....

http://www.purerock102.com/

Just a 'coming soon' message, but I suppose you can draw your own conclusion of the new format???

Stay tuned

Joe

Has WLFE gone up to 25kw yet ??

Not yet. One of the things that needed to happen first was the move of WRGR Tupper Lake from 102.3 to 102.1, which just happened last week. With that out of the way, WLFE can begin moving on its power increase. (WRGR will apparently be able to increase to 25 kW on 102.1, too, but I haven't seen an application from them for that yet.)

Now if only WLFE went on 102.1 I would be happy...  Still no rock for me in the kingdom..
Kiss from NH kills the 102.3 frequency here in the NEK VT.. I am glad I transferred to WCSU Danbury...

I was aware of the WRGR having to move as well.. Well.. WLFE is now "Rock 102" looks like Burlington now has an "Active Rocker" and the stream is on as well.. Had to access the stream by going to "Champlainradio.com" and accessing the old WLFE site.. Didn't quite happen at "10:23" had to get thru an "Andy Williams Christmas Song first".. Going for a younger sound and crowd than Champ and Wizard..

Younger crowd?  Just heard them segue from "Dude Looks Like A Lady" to "Blurry" to "Hard To Handle" (with unnecessarily music image sweepers between each song.)  Are they going to play any currents?

It is an odd mix of music.  Yes, all "rock" but no real method to it.  Maybe that is what they are going for and I understand it is their first day so I am sure some adjustments will be made.  Some of the segues are a little train wreck-y (even though they are imaging between each song----some songs just sound odd before or after another song) and some of the songs are not really going to appeal to a "rocker."

The new morning show is going to be a great addition.  I think it starts tomorrow.

They could have let Louie keep his job, but okay.

No offense to Louie but I just can't see/hear him doing this format.
