WINZ to flip to sports?
« on: February 03, 2009, 09:14:23 AM »

This bums me out, I listen to WINZ online a lot, especially to catch Lionel in the evening if I miss him in the morning.

Scroll down to "Around the Dial" to find an item on WINZ flipping to Fox Sports.  The Liberal Talk Radio blog also mentions this: http://ltradio.blogspot.com/

WINZ doesn't do that bad in the ratings, but running FSR off the bird to save costs seems to be one of Clear Channel's go-to strategy at the moment.  See WDFN in Detroit and KLSD in San Diego for precedents.

George Bush gets blamed every time the Dolphins lose and if the Bills win it's because Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, the IMF, World Bank, Illuminatti, and CFR conspired with Halliburton and Diebold to fix the game, thus causing the levees to fail in order to cover up the fact that there were no WMDs in Buffalo. I think you may be on to something here.

I agree with a friend of mine who suggests they simulcast WWV. They'd probably get the same ratings...
