Cumulus in QC Lays off 3
« on: February 13, 2009, 10:29:29 AM »

Cumulus Broadcasting Inc., which operates five radio stations in the Quad-Cities, has laid off three people, including two on-air personalities, Pippa Harris and Melissa Hrabak.

Harris did the afternoon show on B-100 as Pippa and worked the midday shift on Rock 104.9 with the on-air name of Kennedy. Hrabak, whose on-air name was Melissa Martin, worked middays on 97X and afternoons on Star 93.5.

Continued at the link.

Read about how Pippa Harris also worked as a janitor for Cumulus!

Cumulus' decision to get rid of Pippa and Melissa made NO sense.  Arguably, they were the better talent of that cluster.  Getting rid of Jeff James and Steve Donovan would have made more sense.  They would have saved the same amount of money if not more.  Besides, Melissa could have been PD and been the host of the morning show.
