Its amazing to me how much the country listenership has disappeared in Las Vegas. It wasn't too many years ago that KWNR was the only country station and a dominant #1 in the market (often obtaining a 10+ share among key demos). When KCYE appeared, most people figured that KWNR would take a hit but that the country share overall would increase. Now, both of these stations are struggling and if you combined their numbers...you'd barely have a top 10 station. Any guesses as to how long Vegas will continue to be a 2 station country market?

Coincidentally, these are the 2 worst sounding stations on the FM dial. Perhaps Beasley and CC should spend some time and money on refining their signals and improve their product. Even Rednecks can Work a MP3 player.

I am a country music fan who has listened to KWNR since I moved to Las Vegas in 2000. I liked them better when they were the only country station. Everything has changed.
How long has Mitch Kelly been on Coyote Country? He is on the radio tonight. I tried to call to say hi and the request lines are always busy. Does that mean he's tape recorded? Will he be on every night?

I noticed that KMXB has been trending down. They aren't doing terrible but they are below their normal range. I think part of the reason is that KLUC has broadened their playlist. Some listeners who were using MIX as a default CHR might have switched to KLUC. Or it could be because MIX cut key staff members such as Justin Chase and Jason Rooney. Or maybe this is just a fluke and they will bounce back.
