uh... not quite!   -  add Legal fees, FCC regulatory fee, application fees, tech-study fees. All in all, Blue Jey lost about $2000.   - Besides, Mr. Bleikamp will likely do a better job with the station than I could have.   I'd like to do a better job with the two gems I already have.  ---BB

louie                                                                                                           I believe that WIZR went silent on January 19 ,2009 . I heard that some management debacles may have been the cause. As I recall besides Bleikamp another fellow Tim Welsh did well out of WIZR studios and wound up on WRGB -TV. He had a great sense of humor in radio on WIZR in the late 1970's. Did you work with him?
 I wish Bleikamp well.

I worked at WIZR in 81-82… it was oldies at the time.  In addition to Jim Blikamp I worked with Amanda Gazley (I’ve heard her on WAMC) One of the more talented jocks at the time was Larry Tocci a funny and kind guy who walked into my store (The radio Deli) a few years ago.  I also remember the engineer Dave Fox who was a great jock. It was my first fulltime job in the radio biz  and I was strait off the streets of Brooklyn. In spite of the fact that most of the staff were townies and always f-ed with me. WIZR is where I cut my teeth as a broadcaster and it will forever hold a place in my heart.
